The local NHS occupational therapy service should be able to provide these

(free).

hi margaret i used to use these for 2yrs 4 my son before we did biomed we got

them on a disability link will look it up for you but when we supplemented

minerals such as concentrace brand or brainchild nutritional minerals and zinc

we no longer needed these chewy tubes and i have never been sure if they cause

plastic allergy issues or not

so we found the mineral supplements stopped the need for these chewt tubes

Hi Does Norman see a cranial osteopath at all?  Tash used to grind her teeth.. it was eased with cranial work.. and necessary when she too was teething.TraceyxPS I am not sure if the plastics are safe plastic...historically they have not been.. i notice that most baby products and teething rings now state that they are BPA free.. so perhaps looking for a good infant teething ring might be a possibility too?

Thank you all for your responses.

Margaret, I didn't realise OT can provide these, I'll ask, thanks. The SLT recommeded them and thought they may be able to improve his bite and chew, but she couldn't provide them.

Tracey, we've been attending FPO every two weeks (but not been back since they moved), I don't think I noticed any difference with the teeth grinding, maybe it calms it down a bit!.

Isobel, Norman's teeth grinding in this instance I think is related to the new teeth pushing through the gums, he is on zinc, mag and selenium.

I was looking at Amazon.com for the chewy tubes and on there it says : "Chewy Tubes are non-toxic, latex free and lead free", but yes I'm still worried about it and have no idea how correct this description is! Anyone know about this?

Hi

Yes, they are produced by Talk Tools and their website says:

All Chewy Tubes offer a safe, non-toxic surface, are latex-free and lead-free,

and do not contain PVC or phthalates.

I think that's probably as good as you're going to get.
