separating cow/calf schedule for milking

Hi-I am a new jersey owner with a 6 week old bull/steer calf. I need other

experiences on when and how long to separate the cow/calf so that I and the calf

can get milk. I greatly appreciate it. We are getting used to each others

schedule since I have only had them a week.
