Guest guest
Hi everyone, I recently joined the group but have been off line on vacation. my daughter is going for her first appointment with the neurologist tomorrow and i am wondering if you all could give me some ideas of good questions to ask. she is 3 months old and has ideopathic scoliosis. 31* at T12. we go for an MRI in about a month for brain and spine. everything seems to be moving at a snails pace but we are trying to be optimistic. I plan to send all the info we gather to our closest Mehta trained doctor to see what he says. i have not met with our orthapedic surgeon yet but when i emailed him to ask if he should consider the Mehta Method and this was his reply... " I have reviewed her Xrays thoroughly, and for infantile scoliosis we usually watch it for several weeks because over 90% of these resolve untreated. Her RVAD Mehta angles look like a baby that should get better without treatment. For now you could lay her on her side over a small bolster several hours a day (to bend her torso out of the curve). We do not cast these now, we usually use a body jacket (TLSO) for those that do not improve on their own. The curve now is about 30 degrees, which is not causing a problem. " I'm not sure how i feel about this...... thanks for listening. Janet and Violet
