HI,

My name is Oliver. Me and my family have a small homestead

in Sunbright, TN which is in County. I have been consuming raw milk off an

on since I was a child. So have my children. I recently remarried and my husband

had never tried it. I found a local source for it and he fell in love. So we now

have our own Guernsey/Jersey cross cow and 2 Nubian goats. The goats are due to

freshen in Apr. We are very happy with our choice to have our own animals for fresh

milk. You can get it here in TN through a cow share legally, but I really love walking

in the house with a pail of really fresh, straight from the cow, warm milk. My husband

used to be on a raw food diet and noticed right away how the milk helped his digestion.

He used to drink no milk at all and now easily drinks a half gallon a day. Our cow

is only producing a gallon a day right now. We are in the process of picking a bull

for her. I am hoping that when she freshens again the milk will still be as creamy

as it is now. I can’t wait for the goats to kid as I have never had an opportunity

to try fresh goat milk. This will be their first freshening so I am hoping there

will be enough milk for them to share with us and the kids too. We also have an

organically grown garden, and poultry.

I look forward to learning from everyone and getting to know

other list members.

Oliver
