Guest guest
HI! Long Time! So my SCOBY hotels had no mold but brew was not vinegary either so I am starting again. Bought Lipton tea bags and oh my! Cutbacks on everything. So I had already separated SCOBIES into separate glass jars and pouring tea on them when I see all these tea leaves that have come out of the bags! Cutback bags must have little holes. So I spent long time straining the rest of my tea through a coffee filter but still have some tea leaves in each jar from before I realized. Do I need to strain each jar totally before letting it brew? Will those tea leaves ruin my brew and create mold and mayhem? Hoping to get answer before brewing takes hold - getting tea leaves out of that gelatinous stuff would be a nightmare methinks! What say you professionals here?
