Guest guest
Corid as a drench will clear it right up. Coccidiosis in Jersey... One of our Jerseys started to show trace blood in her stool. I called our vet and he said it was probably nothing but if I wanted to he would do a fecal test. The test came back with no worm eggs found but she did have a minor case of coccidiosis. His instructions were to wait it out. That was last Thursday....She still has blood in her stool. Over the weekend, she had diarreah with blood at the end. I asked him again today and he did not seem concerned. Any suggestions? I did give her some Pro Bias to help her gut and have cut back on her grain. She eats and drinks fine. Thanks! Guest guest
If you are organic, there is a product from Agri-Dynamics called Vermatox (sp?). It works very good. I wouldn't wait around and do nothing. I don't believe that was very good advice. Just my two cents. Candy Now in Maine
Guest guest
slippery elm is very helpful and soothing to the digestive tract. also aloe vera. 6 -8 oz twice a day as a drench or on her grain. slippery elm is sweet and you could mix 1/4 cup with her grain 2x a day. Guest guest
I have used 5 days of SMZ's tablets in my sheep at the vets recommendations in the past. Now, I have all the animals on my farm (sheep, horses, donkey, cats) on an herbal deworming program and that also seems to keep coccidiosis at bay too. I do fecals 2-3x a year to see how things are going as well as weekly eyelid checks etc..... If she has blood in her stool, I would do something and not wait it out but, that is me.
