Guest guest
Hi Everyone!Wow, I have to praise both Miranda Esmonde-White (Classical Stretch) and (Total Fitness DVDs) for SUPER speedy shipping. I placed orders on Tuesd and Wed and they both arrived on Friday!Anyway, this morning I tried Miranda's Classical Stretch Core Workout. Very nice. Nothing really new here, so if you are not a CS "groupie" and have one or two already in your collection, you probably do not need this one. I like CS and do it (or used to do it) often - I'm planning on doing it more often again, b/c when I was consistent with it my flexibility was much improved and I had fewer aches and pains. Anyway, the Core Workout has three segments (they are not presented as chapters on the DVD which is disappointing - in that you can't select them from the menu - but you can skip through to find the chapters - if that makes sense). Anyway, it starts with standing work - Miranda's usual blend of stretch and strength (mostly isometric holds). She hits upper and lower back as well as hips. Second segment is floorwork - mostly for abs - thankfully, not endless crunches. She had some Pilates inspired work in there which made it ok for me. I hate endless crunches and that is what Miranda tends to do (which I don't understand b/c from what I have read crunches are bad for your back and serve very little functional purpose!) Next segment was barre work - mostly for stretching. She included my favorite psoas (sp?) stretch - which really unlocked a huge amount of tension in my lower back. I have been so slacking on doing my stretches and I feel it and need to change it. Anyway, this was a good session for me this morning! Here's the rest of my week: Sunday - Punch Level 1/Power Fit Harmony Core Balance Monday - Self/Ellen Barrett's Bikini Ready Fast Tuesday - FitPrime Lean Wed - FitPrime Pump Thurs - Cardio (Amy Dixon's Women's Health Workout) Friday -FitPrime Metaboost Not a bad week, but not a great one either. Could have used a little more intensity, but at the start of the week I was feeling very run down. So, probably good to ease off. I plan to do more of the FitPrime/Kickbutt routines this week along with cardio. Hope everyone has a good day!Donna
