I pushed a wrong button.

A couple of years ago when I was trying to get better EYS for him a

vice principal said I could get NHS students from the district to

come and tutor my son and they had to volunteer becasue they had to

do communtiy service as part of being in the NHS. He promised to get

these for me. But I had to go up to the school several times and

then he wnated me to pay them! How does that satisfy NHS rules?

Then he didn't get them for me, but the diagnostician said her

daughter could do it, but I had to pay her.

So she came but she was't very patient and I had to get on toher for

scolding my son unnecessarily. I only left the farm a couple of

times to do a quick errand, but most of the time I was in and out

between the house and barn. Then, in late summer, my sons tarted

sreaming whenever her car pulled up. I asked her several times if

anything had happened and of course she said no.

This made no sense to me since my son loves everybody and is very

affectionate. This was the first time I ever saw that he seemed to

dislike or be afraid of someone.

Then she came to the house one day and the same thing happened. I

got my son calmed down and then I could tell this girl was upset so I

asked her what was the matter and she said that all the way to my

house the voices inside her head wwere telling her to do bad things!

Then she went on to say that her medication wasn't working and that

she had told her psychiatrist that it wasn't working!

Well I told her to go on home. I waited a couple of days and then

called her to say we didn't need her services anymore but I put it as

delicately as I could. I was so fuming mad at the diagnostician. I

found out her daughter had had a breakdown! Did I not have a right

to know they were sending me someone with mental problems?

We went to the ARD and since i took an advocate, my son got much

better IEP's and services, and part of that was that he would get

intermittant home-bound services. Well, they say they didn't but I

say they led me to believe that there was a separate home-bound

teacher, but now they say that it is the diagnostician! This is a

woman who has lied to me for three years! She sent someone to my

home with a condition I had a right to know about. She rolled her

eyes at teh principal when I said my son needed intermittent home-

bound services and tried to get me to beleive (as if I ever could)

that sending worksheets home was adequate. Now I have to let this

woman in my home? I spoke with the principal and she says nobody

wants to do homebound. I see this as jsut another ploy on the part

of the district to deny my son FAPE. Please, let me know what you

all think.

I heard from another family that when a family complained last year,

that an anonymous call was then made to CPS and then family wasn't

allowed to know who made the compaint -- that CPS can jsut come and

takeyour kid on an anonymous call and then you have to still go

trough hell to get your child back even thoud someone made a false

call. Is this possible? Can someone get away with doing this out of

spite?

My son is about to be eight and is highly intelligent and capable,

but they have held him down to kindergarten level work for the last

three years and yet passed him on the books. This is a social

promotion jsut so they can say they are not leaving a child behind,

but they have prevented my child from being able to be successful.

My son should be reading by now but he is not.

Please reply.
