I LOVE my polar hr monitor.. it gives calories but I don't ever believe those to get an accurate calorie burn you need a good accelerometer and according to my exercise science profs I work with they are expensive.I use my HR monitor a lot for cycling. When I do long flats it is easy to get lazy and it helps me keeps my hr ~65-70% during the flats.. I also like to do this drill where every 2 min I add 5 bpm to my HR until I am near max which is about 188 for me... (I did puke when I saw a number near that during a cycling seminar !)I may get another monitor next year I am thinking when I get to goal at WW it will be my gift as I buy the expensive ones.judyTo: exercisevideos Sent: Tue, December 7, 2010 10:08:26 AMSubject: Re: Wish list?

I should add that I want a calorie burn monitor and not just a HR monitor. I think I might see what our local stores have for that. What do you have for monitors?
