Guest guest
Name: Joan I.Email: inongjoan@...Hi everyone, here is my introductory letter to the Raw Dairy group. I live in California in Los Angeles County, more specifically in Lancaster. I'm only a recent raw milk consumer because I found a couple of stores that carry raw milk. The first time I tasted raw butter, I had purchased raw cream (Organic Pastures brand) from a store in Valencia. I made my own butter by putting some room temperature cream into a glass mason jar and shaking it gently until I felt a lump flopping around in the jar. The butter was delicious. I was then shopping around a local health food store here in Lancaster and I went to see if they stocked raw milk. To my surprise, they had just started stocking raw milk from Claravale Dairy. Now, I used to think I was lactose-intolerant. I have avoided dairy (unless it was yogurt or cheese) for many years, and have tasted almond milk, Lactaid, and soy milk. I believe I am allergic to soy milk, and I don't like the taste of Lactaid. To my surprise, I did not have any adverse side effects from drinking raw milk. Although raw milk is pricier than pasteurized milk, I love its taste, texture, and the myriad health benefits associated with drinking raw milk. When my fiance and I purchase our dream homestead, we'll surely have a milk cow and dairy goats. We both love raw milk and making the many other dairy products from it, such as butter and cheese.
