Dear poster,

If you have something to share you feel has helped you and you would like to share that experience with others, why don't you sign your name and/or provide your email? I have a tendency to not trust people who are not forthcoming.

The Listening Program

Hi,

I encourage you to contact me as I am sharing this from the bottom of my own experience. I find I am able to handle stress better and understand others. I also find my thoughts are better organized. I think it has to do with the patterns and flow of the music. It starts and ends in a systematic way. So now my days do too. Has anyone in the list used the listening program?

Visit http://www.thelisteningprogram.com to learn more and hear from people

about it. I'm glad to help as I am a distance provider. My email is in the

subject line. , it's not a bad idea to not trust others but I wouldn't

base that on whether they give a name and email that's for sure.

I'm an adult with aspergers so I am on the inside of the life and what the

asperities involve. I'm glad to help. I don't pust but I am on a ton of

listservs and right now is a time some families may be able to try something

they didn't before. Auditory stimulation is a peaceful and non-toxic or

damaging way to give the brain a bit of stimulation in all the areas and allow

for pathways to emerge. I know as a speech therapist that we can develop new

motor pathways for speech by practicing sounds like sssss if it's misarticulated

can be taught as t drawn out and then the patient learns 't' as 's' but

eventually we call is 's' when the pathway is formed. I work with a lot of

other auties and apd kiddos.

If you are a don't user think about this. When I was young until 12 I never

heard " don't " I have autism. I hear action words my mind is fast for every

single word. " Don't run! " I hear " Run!! " " Don't do that! " I would say to

myself as an 8 year old " Do that...do that.. " then my mother pointed it out to

my dad and they started using clear English. " Walk to the red door and stop. "

or " Stop running! " I knew stop.

When I type using Dragon I love it. It works great for me. I don't like

listening to people talk and the program helps me with that too.

Margaret,I'm going to say this as respectfully as possible. The experience of one AS adult is just that, the experience of one. What you describe is how your life has gone. Assuming your knowledge is more accurate than others is dangerous. We are using the Listening Program on one of my children. We also do vision therapy and many supps. She is doing very well at present. It's hard to say if it is helping, but something is working. I will probably use it on my other children as well.

My son did the Berard Auditory Training method (a different version of auditory

therapy)at age 5 almost 6, and it did help improve his receptive language and

lessen his frustrations with cpommunication, this lead to better behavior that

was immediately noticeable by his teachers (we didn't tell them, and they kept

asking what we were doing differently that made him so much more cooperative).
