Poultry guardians available

I have a litter of 8 week old LGDs whose parents and grandparents have been

selected by me for their poultry-guarding ability (low prey drive for flighty

fragile livestock, early maturity, effective against aerial predators,

close-guarding, slightly smaller size, medium-length easy-care coats, very human

friendly, and structurally sound).

They were born and raised with chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep and in proximity

to cattle and horses. They are well human-socialized and have been fed a diverse

mostly raw food diet. I recently had wolves move into the neighborhood, thus I

needed to increase my number of dogs. I got more pups than I expected, so the

extras that I deem suitable for poultry work are available for $250 each. The

others are more suitable for farmstead dogs or for larger livestock (sheep,

goats, calves, pigs) and those are also $250. If you calve on pasture, having a

dog with the cows can prevent predators from getting the calves.

They are a combination of Akbash, Anatolian Shepherd, St. Bernard, Komondor,

Great Pyrenees and Newfoundland. Mom is around 75 lbs, Dad is around 110. I can

send photos if you would like.

I will also give the new owners assistance on training and care of their new

pup.
