Guest guest
Hi, I'm . I've been a group member for awhile now, but usually stay in the background. Today, though, I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. My daughter will be 5 in November. She was diagnosed with ASD shortly before turning 3. She has an interesting behavior and my husband and I can't seem to figure out why she does it. She will remove cushions from the sofa and put them on the floor. She will pull her bed linens off and put them on the floor. If there are clothes piled on a chair, she throws them on the floor. If I'm folding clothes on the bed, she pushes them into the floor. Yesterday she went into our closet and pulled all of our clothes off the shelves and onto the floor. She will also do this with any type of basket that may have items in it, like the shoe basket we have by the door, the clothes hamper, a toy basket filled with toys, etc. Can anyone help me understand why she may feel the need to do these things? Could this be an OCD type of behavior? Thanks so much!
