I know I keep hearing a number of 4700 mg for K intake when you are dashing. Is

plasma K where this is measured and what happens if this is on the high side?

This year Mine has been 4.8, 4.8, 4.8, 4.2, 4.8 and 5.0 with a ref. of (3.5-5.0)

(The 5.0 reminded them to stop my supplemental K tablets, I was on 20MEQ bid.

Has anyone seen my S-T-U-P=I=D stamp?)

- 64 yo morb. ob. male - 12mm X 13mm rt. a.adnoma with previous rt. flank &

testicle pain. I have decided against an adrenalectomy at this time since

Meds. are working so well. Current BP(last week ave): 123/69

Other Issues/Opportunities: OSA w Bi-Pap settings 13/19, DM2. and PTSD.

Meds: Duloxetine hcl 80 MG, Mirtazapine 15 MG, Metoprolol Tartrate 200 MG,

81mg asprin, Metformin 2000MG and Spironolactone 50 MG.

4700 should be your daily K intake, not your blood value, if you are going that

high, stop the K supplementation or lower it, also remember spiro KEEPS K in

your body, so you might want to have that adjusted specialy since your BP is

doing so good you can just dash and lower spiro..

My PCP is very cautious since I'm her first PA PTN. I just cut Spiro back to 2

doses of 25mg each and she was concerned but all appears good! I will request

she test it again and we will see where we are. I'm not on any K supplement so

it is all coming from diet but I don't really watch how much I'm eating so I'm

questioning if 4700/day is still critical if K is at the top of the range.

Thanks
