Guest guest
When all the children were home, 2 whole chickens barely made a meal, especially when #2 daughter and both sons were in their teens. Now the little woman and I make 3-4 meals from 1. The last is always bone broth soup or Chicken al la King over rice. We had a small turkey on Sunday and sent a good bit along with my son and his buddy. Last night I cut up about a cup of dark meat added two cups of broth and put all the veggies in the blender and warmed it all up over rice. It was Excellent. We have used this concept for years now and have about got to the point that the final serving is our favorite. Bill Dunlap BTW, as far as nutrition goes, an aquaintence who was a mission Doctor in Africa for 35 years told us this: 1 cup dried blackeye peas, 1 cup brown rice (both uncooked) and an egg would provide sufficient carbs and protein for growth and maintenance for all but the most physical of endeavors. Additionally a source of vitamin C would be good, but not required if the person is out doors and healthly in the begining. What a sad waste to not make bone broth!!I'm sipping some bone broth right now! Feels so good in the body, doesn't it? ..
Guest guest
I have a question on the bone broth, I recently read a good recipe for it, but was curious about the marrow, do you make an effort to extract it?? Would like to hear how you guys make yours. And has anyone made it from butchered lambs? Getting ready to take a couple of lambs in to be butchered and thought I would try it.
