Guest guest
Maybe just exchange invoices? They bill you for boarding 'your' cow at their place, and you invoice them for hay?Dawn in Kelowna I found a farm with a raw milk share program but no shares are presently available. I found a Co Op but with two little ones at home I'm not in a position to fullfill all the requirements. I also don't want to pay an additional 20%. I have a good source for beef and eggs and have my own garden so I just need a good source for raw milk. I'd like to make my own raw cheese, raw butter, raw yogurt. I live part time in Washington County KY on our farm and part time in the city of Louisville, KY. I'm interested in purchasing a share in a cow or in trading a whole heck of a lot of hay for a share. We currently cut between 200-300 acres of grass for hay twice/year. This was the first in eight years that we got three cuts. Only one year, during a drought, did we only get one cut. Our farm was a cattle farm for almost 100 years, then it was vacant for 20, it's been just used for hunting, hay and a few horses with us for eight years. No chemicals! So how much hay would you like for a share for a family of six??? and how close to Washington or Jefferson Co are you located? Is it legal to trade a product like hay for raw milk in a state where it is illegal to sell raw milk? What would it take to change the law? I don't mind a good fight for a good cause!
