Guest guest
I have been taking TriQuench 6-8 drops most every day for about 3 months and I don't feel any different, not now or at the beginning and I started on 2 drops, went to 4 then 6 then 8 and still nothing. In your experience would this be because I am mega deficient? I read of other parents only being able to handle one drop and stuff. Over the years I have done the Willis thngey with painting until the mark stay 24 hours but not for a couple of years before I started TriQuench TIA Mandi x Every child we bear takes iodine out of our bodies and it seems that we are all not getting enough iodine anyway, so Mothers often become hypothyroid after having children. Iodine deficiency seems to be very important. As you increase your intake of iodine, you usually end up reducing the amount of thyroid hormone that you need. Guest guest
Thanks , do you have a link to that group? Mx Hi Mandi,I was on Tri-Quench before and it seems that Iodoral or Lugol's is better as it has iodine as well as potassium iodide. The Iodine Group only recommend these as apparently you need both iodine and potassium iodide in the body. You may very well be mega deficient, but, you also need to take the companion nutrients especially sea salt at least 1/2 tsp per day. Have you looked at the Iodine group? They have all the information you need there. I think that those who can only tolerate 1 or 2 drops are probably very toxic and/or are nor taking the companion nutrients. I know, you are going to ask me what they are - I will have to go back to the group to give you the precise levels - I will let you know!! x>> I have been taking TriQuench 6-8 drops most every day for about 3 > months and I don't feel any different, not now or at the beginning and I > started on 2 drops, went to 4 then 6 then 8 and still nothing. Guest guest
Thanks for this I found this bit particularly interesting and relevant..In The Metabolic Treatment of Fibromyalgia,[1] I explain various mechanisms of these patients’ air hunger, all of which result from too little thyroid hormone regulation. One mechanism is weakness of their respiratory muscles, including the diaphragm.[22-23]Researchers call this weakness of respiratory muscles " hypothyroid myopathy. "  Looking at this from my kids perspective... that they have weakened diaphragms at birth due to many hypoxic incidences pre natally... it makes perfect sense that whilst this weakness is not addressed the body is perfectly placed to become hypothyroid... So my thinking then is that the cause of hypothyroidism can significantly lie with weak diaphragm and hence poor breathing.. So for Mum's who have had babes constricting both their diaphragms and breathing significantly during pregnancy.. it is almost predictable that post babes we are prone to weight gain and thyroid problems.. and whilst medication may alleviate the symptoms to get to the cause effort must be put into strengthening the diaphragm... Thanks so much for posting this ...Tracey  This might be of interest too: http://www.drlowe.com/jcl/comentry/breathingproblems.htm Air Hunger to Death: Breathing Problems of Hypothyroid Patients > > > > > > > And why so many of us are overweight after having babies, Tommy had is > > head stuck up under my ribs for over a month must have stretched all my > > bits, I am twice as wide sideways on the ribs as I used to be. Guest guest
All this info is perfectly timed.. I am due to meet on 14th March and hope to discuss the weightloss programme with her... Guest guest
It is interesting isn't it Tracey. You can see how TST which works on these muscles helps. However, it is worth noting that when you replace the Thyroid Hormone the air hunger goes away, so it suggests that the weakness in the muscles also goes away. Vicky's breathing was doing brilliantly and we had this confirmed by Sascha at Advance - as her need for thyroid hormone has grown (children need more in their teenage years and Vicky's endocrine system is compromised anyway) her breathing has got steadily worse in spite of doing TST every day. Replacing her thyroid hormone with Nature-Throid makes her breathing go back to normal again. There is a very strong link with Iodine and Hypothyroidism. Every child we bear takes iodine out of our bodies and it seems that we are all not getting enough iodine anyway, so Mothers often become hypothyroid after having children. Iodine deficiency seems to be very important. Guest guest
Hi I had forgotten how in Germany all the salt that you buy in the shops has iodine added to it... I wonder why NHS is not following the guidelines from there... What is nature thyroid.. I have always been concerned about using human or animal products with CGD and BSE... interested to understand a little more about his product... as I am often out of breath and this all started after my fourth... Thanks for raising this Tracey  It is interesting isn't it Tracey. You can see how TST which works on these muscles helps. Guest guest
Hi Tracey, I'm not sure if we put iodine in our salt or not - even so the levels in the salt even in Germany are really only enough to prevent goitre. not to provide your body with enough iodine. Sea salt is what you need to be taking anyway. Nature-Throid is from pigs I understand. Natural Thyroid Extract(NTE) was used highly successfully for years until the synthetic hormones were brought in. The NHS will only prescribe the synthetic hormone, especially just thyroxine - some enlightened GP's and endo's will prescribe NTE. Most people on the Thyroid Patient Advocacy group are importing their medication from the USA/Mexico and even Thailand and alot are self-medicating. I get mine from the USA. If you join the Thyroid Patient Advocacy Group UK, you can get discounted tests from Genova and others, as the NHS will not run the right blood tests. Good luck Tracey - this should help you lose weight as well. Have you done Dr Rind's temperature graphs - that will give you a good idea of how your thyroid is. x > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > And why so many of us are overweight after having babies, Tommy had > > is > > > > > > head stuck up under my ribs for over a month must have stretched > > all my > > > > > > bits, I am twice as wide sideways on the ribs as I used to be. Guest guest
Dear , This is perhaps related with my son's condition as well, I am not sure.In the past I insisted thyroid levels should be checked. In England and in Turkey, they all seemed to be normal. But he always has a low body temperature, sometimes below 36..I mentioned this to good friend Willis Langford and I read his thyroid file..However nobody from (Breakspear or NHS) considered thyroid problems because TH values were normal.Recently his body temperature is better, may be TST,circulation is better. But he still breathes for air especially I see this behaviour as soon as he gets up, he looks like he is suffocating!I find this is difficult to understand as he supposed to be relaxed.. I know the importance of iodine, in the past I was buying salt with idoine.Last few years I am using sea salt.Does see salt include iodine?? Lack of iodine also creates mental problems if I am not wrong to remember what I read somewhere? Many thanks that you raised up this.I will ask the nuerologist to look at his TH values again.I think you are using thyroid hormone, were your child's THs normal on the blood test or is there a particular test for this? All the best Thanks Nevin---

Guest guest
Hi Isobel, Mandi and Tracey, First - here is the list of companion nutrients: a. Vit C – 2,000 – 5,000 mgs / day – supports the symporters and assists as an antioxidant to detoxing. b. Selenium – 200 – 400 mcg / day – needed for detoxification and thyroid hormone creation. c. Unrefined salt (Celtic) – ½ tsp / day – supports adrenals, binds to bromide and assists in removal, supports symporters (sodium iodine symporters or NIS) d. Magnesium – 400 mgs / day – critical for over 300 enzyme reactions in the body. e. Optional – ATP CoFactors -1 tablet 2x / day – when individuals continue to feel fatigued or have autoimmune thyroid disease this product can assist in increasing ATP (energy) within the cells. The reason why Iodoral and Lugols is considered the best is because both contain both potassium iodide and elemental iodine. The body apparently needs both, especially the reproductive organs and places like the breasts - it would be best if you either joined the Iodine group or looked at somewhere like www.iodine4health.com - I am not an expert! Personnally I feel that the Iodine Protocol is very pertinent to us, I feel alot better on it and with the thyroid hormone I am beginning to feel more like I used to. My temperature has stabilised a bit higher than it used to be although it is still on the low side. Vicky who is struggling big time with her endocrine system says that she has much more energy when she is taking at least 50mg of Iodoral. Her thyroid gland swelled up when she first started taking Iodoral - this didn't happen on the Triquench, it seems that if your thyroid gland needs iodine it does swell up to start with. The swelling has almost gone now. Vicky is definitley better on the Iodoral than on the Tri-Quench - it is very upsetting to think that she has been iodine deficient probably since she was conceived. You can buy Iodoral from the Nutri centre as well - it is supposed to be better on the stomach than lugol's. xx > > > > > > I have been taking TriQuench 6-8 drops most every day for about 3 > > > months and I don't feel any different, not now or at the beginning and I > > > started on 2 drops, went to 4 then 6 then 8 and still nothing. Guest guest
Dear KirstyInterested that Iodine Group talk about iodine needed to detox fluoride.. We lived on fluorinated water in Birmingham, and I was a big water drinker.. I wonder if this combined with 4 pregnancies left me very iodine deficient.. hence the gradual move to overweight and the other issues like dry skin etc... I will look into this a little more.. are you also in a fluorinated area... and if so could this we impacting on our babes iodine levels?  I wonder whether you chance in mental state may simply be your body adapting and detoxing as it receives more iodine in it.. on the basis that all change, even positive chance may feel a little uncomfortable to begin with? Tracey  I have been taking one Iodoral per day for the last two weeks and have been having side effects similar to depression, and spots galore (which i read about on another website as normal). Am not feeling like upping it at the moment in case I start to feel worse. Do you know the dosage for these tablets? It says one a day on the pot but i never go by what they say. Take loads of other vits alongside this but had not been having salt? Guest guest
Thanks so much , talking to another mum yesterday and I remembered before TriQuench I was taking Thyadine which did give good effect, appetite reduced, bowels moving, seemed to promote motility. I was taking 6 drops of that too. Hmmmmmmmm, lots of reading to do Mandi x Hi Isobel, Mandi and Tracey,First - here is the list of companion nutrients:a.
