Guest guest
Hi all,Just wanted to do a quick update on Sam. I have had 2 weeks off chelation because yeast was hiding the gains we have been achieving through AC.Sam has become alot calmer around other kids. Today I went to a friends house and Sam sat with their daughter doing jigsaw puzzles and chatting to her. Then we were sat round the island in their kitchen and Sam asked their daughter "what are you doing with that?"She was making a telescope. Sam then went on to tell her all about pirates. I very very rarely hear Sam ask someone else a question...unless its about him ie. Whats for dinner etcHe also woke today at 7am.There are two questions i have.1. Sam is having alot of nightmares about monsters etc. Anything i can do about this. Obviously i have spoken to him about this and he now takes Spongebob and to bed with him to protect him. He also has a dream catcher above his bed to catch the nightmares.2. Anyone know of a book I can show/use with Sam to teach him about death. Thanks alotKirstyx
Guest guest
Dear KirstyThis is a book title which was recommended to a friend when her husband died.. and her children were only 5 and 8.. It is a holistic sort of approach to the subject of death. http://www.amazon.com/What-Earth-When-Someone-Dies/dp/1575420554I used to have terrible night terrors as a child and I think looking at timing of foods and choices of food for evening meals has an influence.. Definately eat at least 3 hours before bed time and ensure that there are no animal proteins or artificial sweetners.. Aspartame is reknowned for causing night terrors. Guest guest
Thanks Tracey. Because of my work, I know so many bereavement counsellors, and have looked through all the books they read with their child clients, but have not come across anything I have liked or think Sam will understand. The one you mention is different from what I have seen so will order it and have a look. At least I know if I do not use it, I will be able to work on it with future clients! I do not give protein before bed BUT he does normally eat about 2 hours before bed...but he always has done and the nightmares started about 2 weeks ago (when we started our chelation break). No idea if connected. He also has a clean sugar free diet. He is also really struggling getting to sleep which is bizarre as he has fallen asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow since we started SCD diet 6 years ago. This has also started about 2 weeks ago. He has just gone to sleep now and for Sam that is very late! He is a 7pm child. Anyway, thanks for the book advice and I'll get ordering it Kirsty x > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > Just wanted to do a quick update on Sam. > > I have had 2 weeks off chelation because yeast was hiding the gains we have > > been achieving through AC. > > Sam has become alot calmer around other kids. Guest guest
Dear KIrstyIs he cutting new teeth or has he recently had a growth spurt? IT may be his body struggling to cope with the additional oxygen needs of his developing body... L'ornithine is good to help with getting to sleep to Best WishesTracey Thanks Tracey.
