I have one disagreement with your post. the constitution does not guarantee us happiness, it is the pursuit of happiness...............there is a big difference! I think a lot of people do think that it guarantees us happiness, it does not! Only the pursuit there of.

Freedom to eat

I think it is great that San Francisco pased a law to give people freedom to eat. I was thinking today the consittution states that the governement has to guarantee the citizens ofthis country life, liberty and happiness amongst other things. A famous American patriot, by the name of Henry believed in this freedom to life. Doesn't life sonsist of eating good food and good vitamins in todays society? The taking away of raw milk on a pretext when items such as eggs and peanut butter have been sold spoiled in the marketplace is a little absurd. Recently I think there were two million rotten eggs recalled because of problems with the egggs. The officials of our governement all take an oath to uphold the constitution of the United States when they ake office. Since when is the denial of ra milk and vitamins potentially upholding the constitution. It is a contradictio n. These are really constitutional issues for which the present politicians should be accountable for. What do other people think? Ina sense the wolf is at the door with regards to vitamin products and the FDA is now at war on the raw milk people and now the vitamin suppliers. Think about this.

Thanks, I didn't have a copy of the constitution on me and was working from meory. The effect is the same though. How can you pursue happiness without the right to eat good, wholesome foods and vitamins. Vitamins, especially,, have been shown to cure disease and allow people who have been sick to recupperate. Thus, you ae right of course. Then it makes you wonder why did they use the term pursuit. Probably to limit the scope of govrernment and allow people to pursue freedom and liberty through self awareness withoutthe government dictating to people what they should eat, wear and so on. Remember Mao's revolution where the communist governnment required all people to wear the same dress. So, from where I can see it today that is really great. People have the freedom to pursue happiness in the mannerthey want as in a contract with the government that the government has even the president swearing to uphold. At least that is how I understand it now. Jerry To: RawDairy From: goatmilk@...Date: Thu, 15 Sep 2011 08:48:17 -0400Subject: Re: Freedom to eat

There is no guarantee of happiness in this world, therefore the government cannot promise us happiness ( I think that is the attempt of welfare etc)

It can only protect the right that we are given by the Creator to search for, or pursue happiness there is a big difference between guaranteeing happiness and protecting the right to pursue it.

I agree with you that it is the job of government to protect our rights to the food we believe is best for us (I would say vitamins and supplements fall under the food label.)

Also the house we believe best. I don't think the government has any right to tell me I can't live in a yurt with no plumbing, or a soddy or whatever else I think would lead to a more fulfilling life for me and my family.........but try living in a yurt in most of America....its against the zoning codes!...........not that I want to live in a yurt, but it goes way beyond just food all aspects of our lives are affected. our ancestors started in 3 sided shanties and worked their way up as they could afford to improve their living conditions, now the government mandates a minimum level of "civilization" by the zoning laws etc. you really can't carve a home from the land and live in a tent as you are getting started. the local governments would take your kids away and run you off the land because you are abusing your kids and not compliant with the zoning rags.

therefore you have to lay out large chunks of money to be compliant with codes, therefore limiting our freedoms to work our way up the way our pioneers did.

Just a thought sorry for the long post. It is so much more then just our food.

Thats really terrific. You have more of an insight into many areas I had not thought about. Over the summer I went to a party at a friend of another friend's house. One fellow there worked for the water company. He was delighted with joy that the water company ws installing electronic meters into every house in Connecticut that could be read at the substation without going to the house. I remained silent so as not to upset him in his very joyful mood. But this is being done against the will of any landowner or business. The utility company in Connecticut nowhsa the right to install these, even when an owner of a house doesn't want them. In the book Zapped, Gittleson, the author, goes over these machines. They put out a repetative wave of electromagnetic energy that is harmful to the human body. I did not tell him this. Also, I read two fascinating books about Boone about a year ago. Back when in those days when someone bought property, as long as they paid for theproperty it could not be taken away. I believe a person was given a contract for the land and not even the governement could take that person's land away.Of course there was no personal income tax at that time either. I have to thnk if someone showed up to install a meter giving off electromagnetic energy in thosedays it would be very difficult for the utility company to do so because the individual's right to the land ws paramount. So, in the pursuit of happiness as stated in the constitution how is the governement guaranteeing our rights when it gives a utility company the ability to force homeowners to accept these devices that will affect the happness and the health of people. In a sense that is why the issue of raw milk is so interesting. So far the government has not sent in the police to enforce this rule of the meters as it has with raw milk. In a sense the government is saying it has to protect people who not only feel unendangered by raw milk, but see it as a very nutritous food that helps us live a morehappy life. In Philadelphia the government send out inspectors to check that the street vendors who sell milk from their Amish farms are not selling any raw milk. They even test the milk. What a waste of taxpayer dollars on these "health" inspectors." A very strange brew I would say. Jerry To: RawDairy From: goatmilk@...Date: Thu, 15 Sep 2011 10:22:21 -0400Subject: Re: Freedom to eat

I agree. In large part the government wants the control of the school system in order to set up conditions where people support the governement and send their young sons and daughters to die in a foreign landsfor whatever cause te government says is correct. This cause can even be to declare war on raw milk products..... Too bad this exists so much today. Who writes the textbooks anyway? Another step will be to disband the department of education as Ron says he will do immediately when elected. With the internet so much information and training is now available right from your house. The officials of our governement all take an

oath to uphold the constitution of the United States when

they ake office.

They cross their fingers.

There are people out there who think the Constitution provides for

same-sex marriage, which of course it doesn't mention, while

thinking that it doesn't provide for the individual's right to bear

arms, when it spells that out in language so clear that it is

impossible to misunderstand. I have heard people quote the Second

Amendment verbatim, in support of their contention that the

Constitution does not provide for an individual right to bear arms.

How can you argue the Constitution with people who can't read, and

who can't understand when things are read to them?

So taking an oath to uphold the Constitution won't be much help if

you're one of the many government types who can't figure out what it

says.

The world is full of nutjobs who think that banning raw milk is

*protecting* your right to life. And thus liberty and the pursuit

of happiness, neither of which will be possible if you die of

whatever it is they think raw milk is going to do to you.

It's apparently okay if you die of diabetes or heart disease, which

seem to be more likely to occur in people who consume broken milk

rather than whole milk.

Blessings,

We have run after convienience, comfort, and "security" so relentlessly we as a people have with no fight and willingly handed over the very right of the constitution, that our for fathers gave their wealth and lives for.

We know nothing of the hardship and risk they edured and took to give a better future for us and we have sqauandered it for comfort, "security" and convienence. They would have told us we deserve we have gotten exactly what we asked for..
