National Call-In Day To Stop GE Salmon--TODAY!

I feel that this is really important, so

I’m sending an email to every group I know that is interested in natural

healing and real food. The FDA is about to approve GE salmon. I shudder to

think what will happen to our food supply if genetically engineered salmon are

allowed to populate the oceans.

We can work to stop this!!!

(1) Call the White House directly at

and say you want President Obama to vote NO to GE salmon, and prevent

the FDA from allowing it. Make sure to give your name and location to the

person who answers the switchboard.

National Call-In Day To Stop GE Salmon—TODAY!

In just a few days, the

FDA is deciding whether or not to approve genetically engineered salmon. If

it goes through, this would be the first GE animal approved for human

consumption. We’re doing everything we can to stop it and need your

help.

Today we are holding a rally and press conference in

front of the White House urging FDA and the Obama Administration to reject

the approval of GE salmon. Can you call the White House

today to support our efforts?

There are a

number of problems with the potential approval of GE salmon. First, the FDA

doesn’t do its own testing, but relies on information provided by the

company that wants approval. And since GE salmon are being considered as a

new “animal drug,” the process isn’t focused on the

potential impacts on consumers. Additionally, GE salmon pose

unacceptable risks to human health, the environment and native fish

populations--along with the men and women who depend upon native

salmon fisheries for their livliehoods. So, we’re calling on the Obama Administration

to step in and direct the FDA not to approve GE salmon.

Can you take a moment to call the White House today? The

calls are easy to make and will help us stop the approval of GE

Salmon. Here’s how you make a call:

1) Call the White House at between

9am- 5pm EST.

2) Tell them your name, where you're from, and then simply ask

that President Obama direct the FDA to reject the approval of

genetically engineered salmon

State). As a constituent (or mother, nurse, doctor, fishermen, chef,

etc), I urge President Obama to direct the FDA to reject the approval of
