For the first time this week I went running and it felt GREAT!  I chose a flat route through Montavilla, as I didn't want to test my healing knee going down one of the hills at Mt. Tabor. I wore my Nike Dual Fusion sneakers for the first time which is a big step for me; ever since I started running again it's been with the Nike Air Max 2009's and I've become a bit obsessed and superstitious about ONLY running in those.  I can report that the Dual Fusions are also quite excellent!  They are very much like Nike's Lunarlites - light and cushy.

When I got home I popped in Body Wisdom's Yoga for Athletes and went to the practices for runners and chose " Hips II " , which is 30 minutes long.  What I like about this dvd is that the poses are held AT LENGTH so that strength and balance wise its very challenging, and flexibility wise you get the full benefit of the stretch.  You do:

tree pose (I'm so happy, I held this pose longer than I ever have in my life!!!) runner's lungetriangleright angle posecobblers' posesupine hamstring stretch with a strapshavasana

The shavasana was nice; Barbara Benaugh leads you through clenching your muscles tightly and then releasing them with each muscle group.  (yum!) is the model throughout as Barbara does the voiceover.I got in 11.25 hours of working out in this week, and am very happy with my week.  I'm also happy with the scale - I'm at 175 and this is the fattest, bloatest time of the month for me so that means in a little over a week I will be on the skinny side of the month again and probably not too far from 170!  Any weight I lose after 170 is a " true loss " , as I weighed 170 consistently before I gained weight while buying a house/moving.
