Guest guest
This is so tough.. I'm glad you liked it!! You'd love " Intensity " too out of her last series - TOUGH!D  Loved it!!!!  LOVED IT! This is really different from what we've done so far. What a fun change! It alternates faster paced strength work at 70% of 1RM with plyo bursts. It goes by really fast.  I held back a little, but I shouldn't have. Looking at my HRM, I stayed within my range, but this one is intervals, so I should have topped out a little more on the plyos.  I'll pull out the stops next time. There's one set I had trouble with: Down Up Jumps. You stand in front of your step, and then you jump up onto the set with both feet. They've got 4 risers under their steps. LOL! I couldn't even make myself try. It completely psyched me out. I balked. I dropped the step down to two risers + the step, and then my brain let me do it. Maybe my brain will let me try 3 risers under the step sometime in the future. After plyo legs, I did 3 sets of 12 assisted pull ups on the push-pull tower, 2 sets of push ups on the suspension trainer ropes, 1 set of chest flyes on the ropes, and 2 sets of abs on the ropes. I took 1 minute rests between sets and used the time to put away my other gear. My abs are fried.Off to shower. I'll post some pictures of my ropes set up a little later. Guest guest
Darcy, thanks! I might need to have that one someday. I gave away my VHS Imax 1. I used to really like that one too.I love Cathe. I'm so glad that my ankles hold up these days. I couldn't do any impact for several years. I had really missed her! This is so tough.. Guest guest
My mouth dropped open as I read that they jumped on the step with both feet and that the steps had 4 risers under them!!! I can't imagine being able to jump that high from with both feet. I have a hard enough time with tuck jumps on the floor let alone getting enough air (and balance) jump up on a step that high. Eeek. Two risers and the step is still fantastic, good for you for trying at least that! Sounds like your tower and rope set up are working great for you too! STS Plyo Legs Loved it!!!! LOVED IT! Guest guest
I know! It boggles my mind. I did some Crossfit classes earlier this year, and they did those onto tall boxes about the same height. I was happy enough with my two risers. It was still an awesome workout. , I'm really happy with my gear right now. The rope setup is killer. My abs were talking to me all evening and in the middle of the night. You can make something like that for under $30.00 if you just get a good door anchor, rope, and handles. Guest guest
I'm kind of timid to do the jump ups on steps and plyo boxes. I've done some mighty hard step-up work in Firm videos before and I'll do that instead, thanks! I'm afraid of falling and injuring myself or having the step fly out from under me. Guest guest
HAHA! I thought I might trip and launch myself into the flatscreen TV. That would make everyone sad! :)It's still worthwhile to try it with a lower step. She does tall box climbs in that workout too, so it's nice to also have the down-up jumps onto a lower step. Two risers was great. It stayed in place. I have carpeting, though. If I had hardwood floors, I'd just put a yoga mat underneath the step. I think the down-up jumps hit the abs and hip flexors nicely. I'm kind of timid to do the jump ups on steps and plyo boxes. Guest guest
I don't blame you there! I'm staying away from plyo all together, and any high impact workouts due to fear of foot injury -- actually, it's a likely foot injury. And I don't heal as fast as I used to!
