Guest guest
I just now noticed that there is an entry in FitDay for “Milk” and another entry for “Milk, fluid, 3.25% milkfat”. I don’t know which one to use for my raw milk. The carbs and protein are the same, but the calories and fat differ.
Guest guest
You aren't going to get accurate nutrition info for raw milk on FitDay (or anywhere else). The 3.25% milkfat entry is for standard, processed (homogenized and pasteurized) " whole " milk - raw milk is NOT 3.25% fat. I've seen values ranging from 4% to over 7%, depending on MANY factors (breed of cow, time of year, where the cow is in the breeding/milking cycle, what is growing in the fields at the time). As the fields in Pennsylvania green up in the spring, we see the cream line in our milk get lower in the jug (meaning more fat)... If you poke around some, you might find estimated nutrition info for Organic Pastures Whole Raw Milk, since they sell retail in California and probably have to have nutrition info. The info would still be approximate, though, due to the above variables.
