Why do you have the hotel in the fridge? I would suspect the fridge is

hard on the cultures.

I keep my hotel at room temp, top off with KT periodically, lasts indef

really. I will add new ones to the old ones if I need more, or I compost

some of the extras. Hoping to dry some out for dog treats this summer.

, since you already have one in your hotel, please consider giving the

others to someone so they can brew. I do not have a hotel but I have set up

enough neighbors that I should be covered if I ever need to replace my SCOBY.

There are plenty of people that will reimburse you for shipping to pass the gift

along. Please consider passing along the gift of kombucha. I am fortunate

someone did that for me and I feel good knowing that I have already set up two

more brewers.

I'd be happy to share my gorgeous scobys!! I actually took them out of my brew

to give away but the two co-workers changed their minds.

Why keep cultures in the fridge? The acidity of the KT+ scobys is the

best preservative and it keeps the yeast and bacteria active an your

fingertips, while fridge makes the inactive.

Personally, I should discard the old-cold 6-monther and tend to your new

scobys:

Glass jar with scobys

topped generously with KT

covered like a brew .... all at room temperature

last for many months - well mine do! :-)

Happy brewing to you, ,

Margret:-) UK
