Guest guest
I have not used the wormwood on my pregnant goats or the ones that we are milking. Wormwood can cause abortions even when the milk from the treated animal has been consumed. So, not wanting to do that to either my animals or any human drinking the milk, I just stayed away from using it. Not sure how often that happens, only found a few links stating that it did cause abortions. However, all my early bred goats that should have had kids in Nov/Dec did not have kids yet. Most were rebred in October. Since I do not preg check via vet I am not sure how many (if any) were in fact bred and lost the babies. And if that was the case, I have no way to prove it was from the wild wormwood growing all over the old farm. Someone told me that DE works well in cows and horses, great on poultry to control mites and lice, but not so great in goats and sheep. Anyone use it on goats and sheep and have good or bad results? If using DE should you deworm a problem animal with a chemical wormer or herbal wormer prior to using the DE?
