Guest guest
Funny, while I'm not a WW member, I am influenced by it - for example, yesterday I bought 3 boxes of vegan Boca Burgers because they are only 1 WW point each, and indeed they are a nutritional bargain! 70 calories ..5 fat13 protein6 carbs Well .. I went online to get the scoop but a lot of material to go thru. I hope I can get to a meeting this week but I am an online WW person mainly. I see I have to re-enter values for lots of foods.. once I do that I think the program is better overall.. Happy about 0 points for fruit. I admit to seeing 2 points for apple vs. 1 point for vitatop.. and would eat the vitatop instead of apple !! here is a summary from CNNhttp://pagingdrgupta.blogs.cnn.com/2010/11/29/weight-watchers-overhauls-point-system/
Guest guest
FYI, , under the new Points Plus plan, original Boca Burgers are 2 points. The packaging will be updated to reflect that at some point. 2 points is still a bargain to me though. (whose WW gag is off!) Guest guest
I'm in the process of updating some of my foods. It isn't too bad except I had a lot of "quick-added" stuff and I'm just deleting most of that because I don't have the nutritional information to plug in. Not a big deal, I'll just run the actual recipes (for the things I actually still care about) through the recipe builder when I have more time. This is my first look at the website too and I am super impressed with how they've redone it. I know the program, obviously, but I've not seen it presented in the way it is online so I want to take the time to go through everything so I can see what members at various stages will be reading. I'm very excited about the 0 point fruit and the new way points are calculated! I cannot tell you how much it drove me INSANE to have meetings hijacked by people who would yap about vitatops and 100 calorie snack packs and ways to get all the crap in they could, but still stay within their daily points target, especially when we'd have meetings specifically about snacks. I'd try directing conversation to healthy but fun to eat snacks and they'd go back to vitatops and 100 calorie oreo packs! I'm sure we'll still talk about some of those things but I'm expecting the conversations to be different. I'm looking forward to it! Gotta go get ready for a meeting this evening, introducing the new program for the first time! ot- WW changes Well .. I went online to get the scoop but a lot of material to go thru. Guest guest
OOh - very interesting. I, too, would probably go for the vitatop to conserve my points so point free fruit sounds like a good deal. now, I really must get back on the healthy eating bandwagon. I have been off for a week - leading up to and after Thanksgiving. Back to work for me tomorrow and that always "grounds" me a bit. I have my lunch and snacks all ready to go. I know this month will present a lot of challenges to eating healthy - but I'm up for trying my best except for a few celebrations and special food occasions!Take care, Donna To: exercisevideos Sent: Mon, November 29, 2010 10:59:57 AMSubject: ot- WW changes Well .. Guest guest
This plan makes it a lot easier to make better choices since it essentially rewards you for good ones (low points values). Despite my workout I had a really tough day emotionally (finances are stressing me to the bones, we had to replace our garbage disposal for $250, my car needs tires, my computer's fan sounds like it is going AND my cell phone need help too). Anyway, I had a very tough time getting rewarded for my choices today but I still felt good about them overall and, as I said, the plan made it easier to stay in check for the most part. Tomorrow, I'm working out early, before the stores open, then heading out to get the phone & the computer fixed and then doing a meeting in the afternoon teaching them the new plan and another in the evening, again teaching the new plan. The tires will have to wait a wee bit longer but hopefully will get those done before the snow flies. My workout for tomorrow is a long cardio (Cathe's step wedding workout) and that should help me burn off calories for stress food if I end up going that way! ;-) ot- WW changes Well .. Guest guest
((HUGS)) . I'm feeling financially stressed also - part of it is self-imposed (the fact that I send my DD to a private school that is wonderful, but is also like paying an extra mortgage every month - our payment cycle ends in February - so that *should* help) and part is the holidays. I really want to cut back on gifts this year. Most people I know have everything they want or need. I would rather donate the $ to charity at this point. DD still has presents left over from her b-day party that haven't been opened yet and I just don't see the point in bringing a bunch more stuff in when we have plenty. I did get her a telescope - I got a good deal on it, and I also had a left-over gift card from her b-day which I used towards it. I think the rest of the gifts from me are going to be books. She is a big reader and is into Egypt lately (they are studying it in school). I know grandparents will supplement and that is fine, but I don't want to have huge cc bills come January to increase my stress during the winter doldrums! Take care!Donna To: exercisevideos Sent: Mon, November 29, 2010 10:17:10 PMSubject: Re: ot- WW changes This plan makes it a lot easier to make better choices since it essentially rewards you for good ones (low points values). Guest guest
Hi Donna! Thank you so much for your sweetness! I'm thinking the same thing on the gifts. Keeping it small and simple. The kids get so much from grandparents we don't need to go overboard and, like you, I don't want cc bills either. I have over $100 in Amazon credits that I have been saving so that I could "buy" a really nice bread machine to replace the okay but not great one I have but I'm thinking I might end up using it for gifts instead (assuming I can find what I want on Amazon, which I normally can). The bread machine we have does work fine and it would save me quite a bit of stress probably... ugh. Decisions, decisions. Anyway, mostly wanted to say thanks, the hugs and note meant a lot to me! ot- WW changes Well .. I went online to get the scoop but a lot of material to go thru.
