Guest guest
Hi, group, I operate a 175-acre meat goat farm in northwest Mississippi and publish Goat Rancher magazine (www.goatrancher.com). I maintain two blogs: http://goatrancherupdate.blogspot.com/ and http:// egyptcreekranch.blogspot.com/. I have a total of 35 years experience in the publishing business, the last 15 with Goat Rancher. I was raised on a cattle farm and have been around livestock most of my life. My wife and I first raised goats on a small farm near Birmingham, Ala., in the mid 1980s. We raised Nubians and our family drank the milk. Didn't know we were " supposed " to pasturize it. We raise Kikos, which were derived from Dairy stock, so we still have some limited milk production. With 5 hungry and growing grandboys, milking goats is going to be a priority this spring.
