Guest guest
My hubby generally feels ok - just tired a lot of the time. He didn't lose his hair during treatment. Depression is a side effect of the treatment but if you know that ahead of time you can work around it. We were shocked to find out that hubby had it and they figure he had it for at least 25 years when he was diagnosed. Good luck in your treatment dear and we are here anytime you need to talk. Life is too short for what if's, jump in with both feet and go for it.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
Guest guest
Thank you. lol. Maybe if I snivel long enough, someone will probably post that they feel good, huh? That's what I am waiting for. I am also curious as to whether if one is not "very" sick, and I know we all have the Hep C, but some levels are not real high, is treatment potentially shorter? I talked to my ex last night and he has been around several people who have gone through the treatment, and he says they get really moody, is this true? And he also told me that my hair would fall out, but I have not seen anything indicating that except that there may be "some" hair loss, generally to those with black hair and of asian descent, for some reason. Also that when it grows back it grows back thicker, shinier, and fuller. Ha! I am all for THAT! And speaking of hair, I have noticed a lot of changes in my hair over the last 6 or 7 years, it is generally not as healthy looking, etc. and I am thinking that the hepatitis could probably affect that anyway. So if it comes back healthier afterwards it may be because your own health has improved. But I am generally surprised to find out how many people actually have Hepatitis C, when I mention it, many people say, "Oh, yeh, I have had that for x number of years." Just imagine how many people have no idea they have it.nwatkins_79 wrote: Hi ,when I had my biopsy it was actually fairly easy. Guest guest
Thank you, . I know it won't do any good to be anything less than optimistic, and I know I will get through it. I am used to being tired. As far as depression goes, I don't have time for that. And by the way, I have been involved in many support groups for various issues over the past few years, and I think this is the most positive and supportive group I have run across...AngelBskts@... wrote: My hubby generally feels ok - just tired a lot of the time. Guest guest
Hey , I'm feeling great today! Slept like a baby for almost 20 hours & woke up with a smile on my lips & cat hair in my eyes. The joys of living with a G. O. T. are uncountable. Stay away from that ex, he sounds like a font of depressing mis-information. Yes, hair falls out for some - didn't for me tho', yes, you can get real moody - anti-depressants handle most of it fine. Different people get different side effects, some sail through it no problem others have a bad time. As my old Gram used to say "Don't borrow trouble" be prepared for the worst then wait & see. Hugs, SuZie & Sir SpYke the Fuzzy G. O. T. & handsomest furrball in the land, just ask him. Pearson wrote: Thank you. lol. Guest guest
Hi, . I'm VickieG AKA: onelildeltagirl. I'm 58 and in week 16 of treatment with genotype 1b. Actually I have not felt really bad during tx. In the beginning I got dizzy every day and ended up sitting on the couch most of the time. My hubby had to take the dog for her walks during the day as I couldn't handle the sun or heat. I must have had some depression as the trazodone, which my general practice dr. prescribed started pulling me out of it within a few days. I was fine as long as my husband didn't disagree with me then I might bite his head off. If he yelled at me, I yelled back, which is not my nature normally. At week 16 of tx, my hair is still intact. I lose a small amount when I wash my hair, less than what you might get off of your hairbrush. I was told to wash my hair with Pantene for Women of Color, and so I do. I think it helps. It doesn't feel as brittle as it did before I started using it. I've been feeling so well lately that my husband and I have gone to Florida for a week or two. We finally found time between both of our doctor's appts. to take off on a trip. and, I am feeling good tonight after driving around town all day with our daughter. Everyone is different in the way they tolerate tx. Go into it with a positive attitude that things will work out for you. But, use the information you receive in group to determine if you need to be concerned about your treatment. Hugs, VickieG Pearson wrote: Thank you. lol.
