There will always be a shoulder for you to lean on and someone always ready to answer any questions that you might like to ask. Wow, only a week to you are banded that is fabulous. I can truly say I have been banded for over 3 years now and I have never regretted a day of it. Good luck with your surgery and I look forward to sharing you journey with you. I have been thrrough both treatments with not much luck. I'm 54 years years old and have been married to my wonderful wife for over 25 years. We have Three Kids ages 22, 19, and 13. I also have Three grown kids from a previous marriage. Just last week I was diagnosed with Diabetes. Also, I had a Cancerous Prostate removed this past January. Obviously, diet has become extremely important to me. I would like to thank the Moderator for allowing me to join this list. Hopefully I can learn much. I was dx'd(diagnosed) HCV+ in 1991 but I caught it in 1969 so that's 38 years now - WOW. I was also dx'd Diabetic about 10 years ago. A lot of HCV+ people develop diabetes. I'm on Insulin cause the oral meds are not liver friendly & diet & exercise didn't work for me. I have cirrhosis & have had since I was first dx'd. I've done tx(treatment) twice back in the 90s & was going to try again three years ago but testing showed my cirrhosis had "decompensated" & I was in ESLD (end stage liver disease) so I couldn't do tx. I have some info on diet that I'll post for you. Once again, welcome to the family. We're a bit weird but a good bunch, I think you'll like it here. We have several with diabetes, and I am pre-diabetic myself but I got it under control with diet & a vitamin supplement. My A1c has been normal for about 9 months now.
