I was just thinking about this very thing the other day when our nutritionist told us to switch Ethan from rice milk to hemp milk.  On the back of the box it say, " No THC -ever. "   And I thought, " hmm...I'm not so sure that's a good thing, " and I wondered if THC could help with the hyperactivity and stimming and gut pain.

I'm not a druggy, but I'm telling you I would trust this stuff over ryspradyl, ritalin, and prozac any day.  By making it legal, selling it at the drug store and taxing it....think of the money that could be saved from not having to prosecute those who grow it or use it.  It's been a losing war on drugs anyway.  they could divert that money into an autism fund to help these kids that really need the help!

Just thinking outside the box here, people.  Alcohol is legal and tons of people abuse it and have problems with that, but others just enjoy a cocktail once in a while and lead normal lives.  When it comes to autism research, I don't think any possibility should be scoffed at until enoughe vidence is in.

Almond milk might be problematic in that muts aggravate viral issues. Boxed

milk very different from making it on your own. (we autism moms don't have

enough to do, so let's make everything from scratch!) I get it!

I did allow almonds, but as with everything I rotated! I never allowed my

kids the same things each day. It took me many months (9 months of work) to

have enough foods into our routine to rotate.

Also though during our healing phase when we were very strict I made my own

almond and quinoa milks. If you look at the almond milk box there are lots of

ingredients. To be safe I took my kids down to only a few ingredients. We

ate about 20 foods for 2 years. Mostly vegetables. So an almond would be a

food. Not almond milk in a box. That would have been 8 -10 ingredients.

So best bet based on my studies and experience is to make your own and rotate

everything.

Now we have a " milk " maybe 2x a week. I make fresh when at home. Now I'm

traveling so we have hemp and coconut milk from the container. You can make

yogurts too.

Anything the kids crave, I took away. It's feeding something.
