Guest guest
Hi ! I'm pretty new here too. I was actually diagnosed with Conn's 7 years ago, but at that time I couldn't find a lot online about it... over the years there's been more and more to be found. I, too, had a lot of "trash" go on in my life, both growing up and before my current marriage. Needless to say, a lot of baggage carried over into this marriage and I have often wondered since my diagnosis if all of the "fight or flight" times in my life attributed to this disease. I'm eager to see what the others say about that. I deal with a lot of anxiety yet. Unfortunately not all of my kids are my pride and joy. I've been trying to deal with their outcome wasn't because of me, it's a lifestyle they have chosen. It's hard to learn to stop blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong in life. I'm sure you will find a lot of help here. I had to start a folder for my emails from this group because I want to keep the info handy and not lost in my other emails... good luck on finding the help you need!! bevAnnieRomans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.check out my website: http://www.angelfire.com/tn/shepherdsrest/MorningGlory.html http://www.angelfire.com/tn/shepherdsrest/porch.html--- Subject: New here, just diagnosed after 8 yearsTo: hyperaldosteronism Date: Friday, August 12, 2011, 3:39 PM I am writing to introduce myself, I am a middle aged woman suffering from HBP, so tired of being foggy, too. Your name sounded familiar when I first saw it here... whatever group it was that I was on recommended the DASH diet also, and that's when I actually purchased the book. Also, while looking at some bp monitors online yesterday, I saw recommendations by a Clarence Grim. Would that be you? I'm not sure the site, but I think it was the Omron wrist monitors... I have one but only the good Lord knows where the manual is at the moment and I was trying to find out what a symbol meant that was flashing on my monitor. It's a heart with the zig zaggy heart rate running through it. My BP was 128/86 and pulse was 76. The day before I had ate out at Olive Garden and my NA intake ended up being about 5000 for the day. I did take a bp pill(which I've backed off for now) and it did come back down. This morning it was 101/71. heart rate 79 and no little zig zaggy hearts... <grin> bevAnnieRomans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.check out my website: http://www.angelfire.com/tn/shepherdsrest/MorningGlory.html http://www.angelfire.com/tn/shepherdsrest/porch.html--- Subject: Re: New here, just diagnosed after 8 yearsTo: hyperaldosteronism Date: Saturday, August 13, 2011, 1:07 AM We have been here for nearly 10 years. Guest guest
My left wrist, just slightly above my hand. my hand is almost closed, but not tightly. My finger tips come about to the right "line" in my palm(the lines that make the M shape), but again, not clenched tightly. There's 1/2 to 3/4" between my fingertips and the padding that goes to my thumb. That space is placed directly over the center of my chest, so the thumb padding is slightly to the left and the fingertips is slightly to the right of the center. If I don't place it there, the cuff will not inflate, just sits there beeping. Hope this makes it more clear for you. Is this the correct position? Also, I keep my feet flat on the floor and am in a sitting position. bevAnnieRomans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.check out my website: http://www.angelfire.com/tn/shepherdsrest/MorningGlory.html http://www.angelfire.com/tn/shepherdsrest/porch.html--- Subject: Re: New here, just diagnosed after 8 yearsTo: "hyperaldosteronism " <hyperaldosteronism >Date: Sunday, August 14, 2011, 12:28 AM Tell me exactly where you hold it. Guest guest
My doctors have always blamed my debilitating fatigue on my LVH and reduced EF. I always knew different. Phyllis Any doc is wise enough in this day and age to navigate the internet and to know when something is valid. If they see it anyway. If one just "tells" them something they read, then yes, they likely will not accept it, but reasons vary. One, we patients have a tendency to focus on the complaint that bothers us most but may not be that serious in a critical sense (weight gain and fatigue are the most common I would say) so we focus on those when say it's actually an MI could be the cause of our fatigue. So that makes sense in some way - and from the patient view we've all just about established getting someone listening is one of the biggest fatal flaws in our course of care for PA. But something given to them - even from the net - takes about 1 second to know if it's valid. TWO - It's the ego that doesn't want to be told what to do and things like getting something off the net that "upset" the 10 minute visit rule throw things off and get their ire up. Sad, but they want to set the course of the conversation, and not you. But not trusting something given to them? That's not it, it might be the excuse. Not wanting to hear it no matter what? THAT'S it.....most likely just due to the "no one's gonna tell me what to do!" syndrome in my opinion.
