Guest guest
Hi, In previous threads I noted various addresses in Britain for HBOT: o http://miracleemountain.homestead.com/HBOTforMS.html o www.abreathforlife.com in Lancaster o Mercia centre in Coventry o http://www.abreathforlife.org/sites/abfl.nsf/pages/Oxygen o http://www.swanleytherapycentre.org/ sborough o Walthamstow, north London o Dr o MS Centre in Dundee o HBOt centre in Edinburgh o http://www.swanleytherapycentre.org/ o http://miraclemountain.homestead.com/HBOTManual.html o MS centre in Bedford. o Mercia MS centre in Coventry Now which one of these addresses would you mostly recommend for a mum with her daugther who has mitochondrial cytopathy with drug- resistant epilepsy. As far as I understand, the child finds it difficult to walk and needs lots of help for everything. In her pathology, HBOT and possibly hard-chamber HBOT could help with her epilepsy. Also the mum is not that well-off either. Many thanks for your insights Françoise Ayzac
Guest guest
Not a very precise answer but Mercia is quite cheap and they dont' turn anyone away on grounds of wealth or otherwise. Guest guest
We've only done 22 sessions in total so far, just not enough hours in the day. They do a need a signed consent form all UK centres would. There is a pack of info they have which you can show your GP. It took our GP 12 months to sign the form. But most just sign it, HBOT is supposedly harmless and used for sports injuries and what not. Best thing to do is phone them, they're really nice people. When we want we got in quite easily but that was Christmas. Thanks - you've reminded me that I really do need to book some sessions!! Guest guest
Hi Delphine, I can add a bit to what Steph has said. We dive at the Mercia. There is one dive scheduled each day at both 16 and 24 feet. We dive at 24 feet. We are on a bit of a break now but will return in a few weeks. You wouldn't have to wait at all. We also get cranial sacral therapy through the director of Pure Oxygen (the HBOT arm of the centre) and I think it is just marvelous! DS had a session yesterday, zonked out completely on the ride home (for one hour) and woke up a very, very happy boy, something that we've not been able to count on in the last little while. Everyone there is amazingly kind. I agree with Steph, call them and if you can go in for a tour, that would be best. If you do start diving there, I may see you :-) DS has done about 125 dives now, 45 of them at the Mercia centre. We have seen improvements in his gut, sleep, and receptive language. DS is a slow responder, and many kids respond faster and more than that. I *think* our gains are holding now, as we were gone on holidays where ds ate terrible food and rarely had his supplements, yet he kept on having pretty decent bms! I think that his gut inflammation has been significantly reduced but I am actually planning/hoping to do another 100 dives or so while we still live in the UK. I hope that might help. Guest guest
Dear Tricia, we cannot tell if these are signs of autism. They might be but they also might not be. Only you know him and only you can tell if he may be autistic. Only you can compare him to the descriptions on a website. We cannot because we cannot know or see him. If you live in a place with doctors and nurses and you are worried that he may be autistic then you need to ask them. Knives are not a sign of autism, or putting things in holes. Many children run in the road. We cannot tell from these signs. If you feel that he may be autistic then you may be right but we cannot tell you. Guest guest
All these centres are hard chamber, as far as I know. The director at Mercia told me that there are 64? 72? in the UK. I can't remember now, but a whole whack of them. Not all certified to treat kids, of course. Anita > >
