Guest guest
Hi Rich I live in Sunbury, PA and drive as far as burg once a week. These towns are in Northumberland County. I have lots of extra scobys in two scoby hotels. Let me know if you want to get one from me. Lyn I need a scooby I used a bad batch of tea and all my scoobies are now bad.The tea was Pu-ehr tea bought on Amazon. The batches produced stray bacteria and made us sick. The furment had a strange, white deposite that I never saw before. Tried cleaning the vessels with hot water and vinegar, cleaning the scoobies and using good tea, but the new ferment is still very slow and questionable. Hopefully I can travel to get one close to State College, Pa. or will pay shipping and handling. Please respond or call leave msg. Guest guest
Latest update: My wife has a doctorate in chemestry and she told me I must wash the brewing vesells with very hot water. Any bacteria that infected the brew must be immune to the high acid content, so vinegar will not kill the bacteria, only very hot water. After cleaning the vessels with very hot water it now looks like my brew is normal. > > I used a bad batch of tea and all my scoobies are now bad.The tea was Pu-ehr tea bought on Amazon. Guest guest
The tap water must be over 130 degrees to kill bacteria. If not, and the dishwasher heats the water, you can wash it in there. > > > > I used a bad batch of tea and all my scoobies are now bad.The tea was Pu-ehr tea bought on Amazon. Guest guest
I just came across your email because I think Yahoo sent me a couple hundred that they were holding back on and I am working through them! So I just saw this from you. I don't want you to think I was ignoring you. If you still need a scoby and would like one from me, send me your address.
