She wore glasses her entire childhood (which was no big deal) and then got contacts in eighth grade. She's now 17 and if she wants when she gets older the eye doctor said she could always get laser surgery to correct it if she got tired of dealing with contacts anymore. Actually, since glasses have become "trendy" she just got a pair and alternates between them and the contacts. Other than that, her vision is fine. Hi Steph, a lazy eye I think is what they call that over here in Spain. You wouldn´t believe how common it is. My little nephew had to wear one for about 6 months, did great and it really did improve the eye a great deal.. My sister in law tryed to make him wear it mainly when he was having to strain the eyes more, thus working it as much as possible, such as in school or reading at night. Maybe you could exercise it a little to see if you can fix it by having her close her left eye for a few minutes while reading or focusing far away, make it a game for her. Just from what I have heard from the other moms over here. It is curious that I see so much of it here, I imagine it is just as common in the states, but I just haven´t noticed. I am glad to here all was well inside the eyes, that is so important. Good luck...> Lots of hugs,> Kelli and Santiago> > Noelle- eye exam> > > Hi everyone,> We just got back from Noelle's eye exam.... The doc says that she focuses more with her left eye than her right. He then dilated her eyes and looked at the nerves and muscles in her eyes. All the nerves and muscles are completely normal on both sides. He said that sometimes kids do weird things and that she might be having a day that was a little "off". He wants to see her in a month to follow up and if the right eye still lacks the focus that the left eye has, he says that we'll have to patch her eye to strengthen the weaker one. Fingers crossed that we don't need to make her into a little pirate for the summer as well!!!! lol Steph>
