Well obviously wash hands etc. The official info is that one shouldn't worry

about less than 4 bulbs being broken at once (Henry has actually done this)- but

did Jack touch anything? Your sister must not use s vacuum cleaner to clean up.

If she has the cleaner will be contaminated.

Was he in the room when the breakage happened? The room must be ventilated.

As for the rash - perhaps not casued by the broken bulb - what has he

touched/eaten today that's unusual.I don't think there's much you can do

about the exposure to mercury vapour - but it will have been a small amount.if a

carpet was contaminated it might be an idea to throw it out?

their bedroom! It was an energy saving type and jack has broken out in red

rashes over his hands and arms plus really red cheeks and ears, absolutely

frantic now as I'm am sure I read a post a while back about mercury in these

bulbs, anything I can do- really worried now. Marina

Hi Margaret, jack wasn't in the room at the time, I arrived after it happened but my sister didn't think any thing of it,swept up most of it and just pulled the door to, we don't know if jack went into the room but he did put his drink carton in the bin where my sister had thrown the glass into! Getting him straight in the bath as soon as I get in, thanks margaret Sent from my iPhone

Do you chelate Marina? If so, starting a chelation round with just DMPS or

DMSA might be a good idea. If not, if you don't already supplement selenium,

that might help in some way for the Hg that may have been inhaled.

Try not to stress too much about it. I know that's easier said than done.

Hi Marina,

I'm not sure what's best for you, but I do know that here, if I thought ds had

been exposed, I would do a dmps only round (certainly not lipoic acid).

However, that's easy for me to say, as we're on all the supplements, etc. and

veteran chelators. I wouldn't rush into something if you're not ready.

Hi MarinaYou probably know this already, but when you do start chelating, don't use ALA until three months after the possible mercury exposure. Just use DMSA or DMPS.Joanne> > > > >> > > > > Have just left my sisters house after her two boys broke the light> > bulb in their bedroom!
