Hi

I stayed on the basic just a month... but I am kinda impatient. :) I only

had the basic when I started and as soon as I could get through it without

almost dying I was ready for something more. I'm not the brightest, am I?

Ha! Like you said, everyone varies... just go with how you feel. You can

always TRY the advanced... if you're not ready then go back to the basic for

a little while longer. A lot of people start out doing half of the

advanced... or even 15 minutes. Good luck!

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if you could please tell me how long a person ( on

average) should practice the Taebo BASIC tapes before going on to the

advanced. I know that everyone differs but I am just curious to find

out what most people have done. I would really appreciate your input.

You are right, it is does differ from one person to another. I would

have to say in my case 3 months. Even though I'd rather do an

advanced tape now, I still do a basic tape when I'm pressed by time.

I totally agree, I wanted to just see if I could get through the

advanced after a couple weeks (although I had done Tae Bo in the

past). Try it, and give it all you've got, and if you can't get

through it, no big deal. I did the Advanced last week and i was only

able to get through about 28 and a half minutes of it, but I had a

GREAT workout. So give it a try if you want, but don't get

discouraged if you can't do it. The advanced is hard! But it will

make you feel great even if you only get through a little of it!

Thanks for your input. I will give it a try.

I was doing the orginal basic tape for about six months before I moved

on to the advance tape. Now I just wished I would have did the

instructional tape more often.

A gal told me the other night that she has a friend that teaches kick

boxing and that she said Taebo is really bad for you - it goes too

fast. I just told her that you have to do the instructional tape

until get your form down and go at your own speed.

But a part of that is true - the advance tapes go faster - and maybe

not faster but since it's a longer tape, it seems that way. It is

important that your form is correct before you even try to keep up

with them.

le, I've been taking a kickboxing class on Saturdays at my gym

and believe me, this class goes fast! It's supposed to be basic

level kickboxing, but it goes as fast as taebo. I've seen a couple

of kickboxing neophytes there, and they have been really struggling

with this class, as I am (and I consider myself pretty experienced).

I didn't establish a timeline. Once I had mastered the basic tapes (able to

complete each tape without stopping or getting too tired), I moved on to the

Advanced. Even then, I started out with once or twice per week.
