Hi and all, I also prefer Ylang ylang #3. In fact I'm

using it in a blend I'm working on now. To me, it has the least

of that bubble gum-like (for lack of a better word) overtone.

Let's talk about the ylangs!

What is your favorite and why?

Have you tried the concrete and absolute in addition to the

distilled ones?

I think my favorite has to be the III.  I really like the creaminess of it.

Very sensual.  My second is a tie between the extra and the absolute.  I like

the banana/bubble gum note to the extra, but the absolute is smooth and suave.

As it usual in perfumery what one wants to use depends on what one wants to

impart in a blend.  I'm looking to do a blend that has a tropical fruity/

floral sort of thing going on and ylang ylang extra, along with white champaca,

citruses, and black currant bud in addition to others, are going to be used.  I

used the absolute if I want a more subtle floral note. I haven't had the III for

a while, and yesterday I tested some on my arm at work and I believe I have to

get a bottle of that too.
