Well, I was dreaming that I was at Florin at the JC

Penney Outlet and I was trying on some clothes. The

sales people were trying to get me to try on size 16

clothes and I kept insisting that I don't wear that

size and never will again. Then somehow I ended up at

the Honda dealership and they were saying that the

cars were on sale for $16,000. Then the next thing I

know I'm back at the store and I get the clothes I

want. Anywho, I was standing in line and noticed some

clothes I hadn't seen before. They had some Tae-Bo

shirts and shorts and sweats out. So I went over to

look at them and lo and behold there was a picture of

on some of them. It was some pictures that had

been taken at the WMTC opening. She was doing her

camera-shy act, but someone still got her.

I didn't stay up late eating anything--I usually have

weird dreams when I do. I just tried to go to bed

early for once in my life and look what happens

:o)!!!!!!

Sandie, Tae and Bo :o)!!!!!

Hmm, keep a look out for the number 16 in your life. Since it appeared twice in

your dream, it could mean something! :)

Colleen, there's an In 'n Out Burger right down the street from me, and some

nights when the breeze blows just right, I can smell it and it makes me hungry

every time!! Luckily I've been able to resist, even though it's only a short

five minute walk. hehe.

RE: Re: Brag day

Ok...well I finally have a brag. I have done Taebo three nights this week,

however, didn't classify that as my brag because I've stopped and started

that so many times now, I " m going to give it a little longer before I brag

on that part. BUT at lunch today I had to run an errand and happened to pass

Del Taco and In and Out Burger and barely escaped <G>...but I managed to

say no and come back and eat a nice healthy lunch instead!! Whew...that was

a tough one for me today!

Janick,

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Get better

soon :o)!!!!

Yes, it's *not* uncommon to have at least 5 fast food

restaurants practically right next door to each other.

Where I live: if I go left at the right, there's

Subway, El Pollo Loco, Weinerschnitzel in the same

shopping center and directly across the street is

Mcs and Quiznos. If I go right, there's Little

Caesar (inside of K-mart--there use to be one kitty

corner from me in the 7-11 Center), a mexican Taco

Place, Jimboys--another mexican Taco Place, Round

Table, Mcs (a different one) and across from

that is Del Taco and Carl's Jr., a chinese restaurant

and Dennys. Then across from the street from that is

Church's Chicken and a Fish Place. Then if you go to

the street behind that there's Mr. 's (it's kinda

like a Denny's) and KFC. Then go another block or so

to Stockton Blvd. there's Jack In The Box, Original

s (Original 's and Mr. 's is owned by

the same family), another Mexican restauant, and

's. That's all within about 1-1.5 miles or so

from my house. Chevy's use to be a bit behind Denny's

but it moved to another location.

OMG!! Most of the places you've mentionned I've never even heard

of! Around here, we have our own versions of fast food joints. The

only ones I can think of that are also in the states are McD, Burger

King, Subway, 's and Dunkin Donuts.

I live in a densely populated suburb... I have to travel 10 minutes

by car to get fast food, only 6 choices: Tim Hortons, Dunkin Donuts,

Mcs, Harvey's (which is where I usually end up), Subway and " La

Belle Province " (a provincial chain that serves mostly hotdogs and

poutine (fries with gravy and cheese)).

Near where I work, it's very multiethnic, and most of the restaurants

are Lebanese, Indian or Vietnamese. However, right beside the

hospital there's a Subway (that's my spot). I have to walk 15-20

minutes to get to a Mcs and a Harvey's. There's also our local

restaurant chains : " Commensal " which serves vegetarian food,

Pizzédélic which serves gourmet pizza and pasta, Nickels serves

smoked meat and La belle province again.

That's about it... guess we still have a lot of chains (many of them

typical or our " palates " )... it just seems that the density is lower.

It's really good... I've seen it in a few spots in the states, mostly

touristic places that are visited by quebecers!

I make my own version at home with baked frozen french fries, cubed

LF mozarella and poutine sauce (which we find at grocery stores here

and is a mixture between barbecue and hot chicken sauce). You could

also use hot chicken sauce. I wouldn't use barbecue sauce, because I

think that the type of bbq sauce you have in the states is sweeter

than the ones we have here. It's also good with diced chicken,

shredded smoked meat or chopped wieners.

Yum... I may have to make a southern version and smother my fries with

sausage gravy :)

Don't forget the fries with vinegar! Not for me - I like ketchup.

But I was SOOOOOO happy when we finally got salt and vinegar chips!!!

It took them long enough.

I wish it were more like that and that people would

start to demand healthier menus. Maybe one day

I can guarantee that eventually things will change. According to

demography, boomers are entering a stage in their life where health

issues are increasingly important. Since they are the largest

portion of the population, with the most money, the restaurant

business will be at their feet pretty soon! The result is likely to

be lighter fare in most restaurants.
