Guest guest
Yes we have used it for vertigo and memory. Hair tests showed low Mn. To be honest I can't say that I felt there was a huge difference and then I got a bit scared by some of the anti Mn postings here and stopped. We used Pure Encapsulations 10mg aspartate/citrate. catherineTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Fri, 18 February, 2011 13:29:23Subject: manganese Just reading about manganese deficiency in autism. Has anyone tried supplementing manganese with their child? I'd be grateful for any feedback. Sara x
Guest guest
yes, thanks very much . After I posted yesterday I found other studies saying it was neurotoxic and even a cause of autism. So it's lacking in autism and this lack is a major cause of autism and it's neurotoxic and may cause autism!?! Can anyone clarify? Guest guest
I think like anything else it depends on the person and on the dose. This is why biomed is so very difficult. I stopped EyeQ a few years ago because a nutritionist freaked me out about very long chain fatty acids and it might be damaging H's brain etc (she was a fan of Pat Kane). I started it again recently because H has spots on his upper arms which can be a sign of fatty acid deficiency. Then I join the meta-mito group and they are discussing the dangers of very long chain fatty acids. I just don't know what to do a lot of the time... and I am thinking he may need manganese (but how much?)... Margaret > > yes, thanks very much . Guest guest
If metal toxicity is suspected then manganese may make things worse as it can increase the effects of metal toxicity, it might be worth giving at lowish doses e.g. 5mg or less to see if it helps, but if there are no benefits after a few weeks then it might be better to drop it IMO. It may possibly help with some hearing problems, but did'nt do anything for mine. Kenny > > Just reading about manganese deficiency in autism.
