How was this diagnosed?

Did the calf die.

Was the calf nursing or bottle fed or weaned.

What are they being fed.

Listeria many times starts with management and does survive the

pasteurization process.

I would just find out the situation. Listeria can be an isolated incident. A

Calf eating bad hay. I hear all the time how cows can handle moldy hay.

Nonsense.

Listeria in a Herd

I'd like to hear what you all would think if one of the calves in the

herd you get your milkshare from came down with a listeria infection.

The calf is recovering. It was diagnosed by a vet who said it would

take a spinal tap for a definitive diagnosis. That has not been done.

The calf was nursing. The herd is fed a mixture of hay and forage.

Thanks for your input!
