Guest guest
Sandi how long will she be in Texas? Where will they be moving next? They kind of talked down to her about it and acted like she was overreacting. They acknowledged that there is an S curve and basically recommended waiting and watching. I told her that it's typical and recommended she see someone trained in early intervention just to be sure she's getting the best possible information out there. She finally convinced them to do a scoliosis panel of x-rays. The chiropractor told her that their x-rays showed lordosis of the lower spine with a corresponding kyphosis of the upper spine (he used different terms) and then an S curve as well. I am also pretty sure she has a good amount of rotation because I can see her shoulder blade protruding on the one side. They're military and hitting a lot of dead ends. I explained that she needed an MRI to determine if it was congenital or idiopathic and she said they are really awful about MRIs - their pediatrician won't order one for her and they refer them out to a very slow facility. She also cannot get copies of her own x-rays and has to fight for these things. She is in Texas now, but moving soon because her husband is completing training. I've recommended she join the group so that you locals and those of you who have kiddos with scoliosis can offer some more experienced insight. But, until that happens, do you have any ideas? Someone on her homeschooling group recommended ish Rite, and obviously I recommended Shriners. Do they do MRIs at Shriner's? She is really concerned about not having a referral to even get a doctor to look at her daughter. I told her I'd find out exactly who to call. Can she just call an ortho trained in ETP without having a referral or an MRI or x-rays? My experience was a little different. Is there anything else I can do to help her get through this? My heart is breaking, hearing the way she's been treated. Her husband is in training right now and far from home, and I just can't imagine going through all of this alone. She's so lost and trying to find her way in this mess with a new diagnosis. Guest guest
We are firm believers in the ish Rite's doctors! Oh goodness! They have done miracles in our daughter's very difficult situation! There was nothing other people could for her and they did give her another chance at life. I would not doubt for a second to recommend people to them! They are the greatest! Nobody knows how wonderful they are until they try them! To me they are truly the quiet professionals. They are not out there talking about themselves and what they do every day. They are absolutely, indeed, very knowlegeable and kind. Believe me when I tell you that our daugther is where she is today, thanks to GOD and ish Rite! Everyone at the hospital shows commitment, care, respect and love for the children adn their families. Please give them a try! Sincerely, Esther If anyone speaks ill of you, Praise them always. If anyone injures you, Serve them nicely. If anyone persecutes you, Help them in all possible ways. You will attain immense strength. You will control anger and pride. You will enjoy peace, poise, and serenity. (Unknown) Re: Help again for my friend's daughter Sandi, ish Rite is where goes. They are not ET trained, but as you might know we have had GREAT results. 's doc along with others, I am sure, are very aware of Ms. Mehta's techniques. Where they may not have lots of experience with infantile scoliosis, but they do have TONS of experience with older kids. I would send her that way........especial ly if they will have a hard time getting stuff done with the military. The only Shriner's in Texas are in Houston and Galveston. I might be wrong, but I thought the Galveston Shriner's is more or less for burn victims. The Houston location is not ET trained either. I don't think....... .I am sure Tracey could tell us for sure. Please feel free to email me privately if you have question about ish Rite or if she would like to.
