Guest guest
Very cool, Darcy!!! Hey, one of your comments brings up a question... what is the difference between strength and endurance, like here, where you're talking about this workout and your legs? Pure Barre Well, I decided to go with another workout like this for today. I was pleased with this one. It was very intense for arms and thighs. Short, but intense. The butt portion I don't think I was doing 100% properly beacause I didn't feel it like the other's. And then there was an ab section too, which was short, but sweet. I thought the workout was 55 minutes when I put it in, but it came out to only 45. I had some extra time so I repeated the arms and thigh section again (total time was about 65 minutes or so). Ow. My legs are stillt talking to me. I really need t do these type of workouts more often. My endurance in my legs is just non-existant compared to the strength!!I burned 281 calories with my average being 94 :)I will do by KB Quickie this afternoon, and call it a day!Darcy
Guest guest
Hmm.. the easiest way to explain it would be like just because I could maybe squat a lot of weight for a few reps, doesn't mean I could do a lot less weight for a ton of reps. The strength and power is there, but they tire quickly! Hope this helps.Darcy Very cool, Darcy!!! Guest guest
Hmmm... that makes sense but brings up more questions.. in weight training, how do you train for endurance and how is it different than training for strength? Guest guest
Strength is heavier weights and less reps. Endurance is more reps and less weights..or even no weights. There are plenty of lower body exercises that can " hurt " without any weight at all :)Hope this helps again. Guest guest
And on that note, a summary I found online: Muscular endurance is different from cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength. It is very confusing to many people. Cardiovascular endurance allows the heart, lungs, and blood vessels to work longer and more efficiently. Muscular strength allows the muscles to lift weight. Muscular endurance allows the muscles to lift weight over a period of time. For example, to move a very heavy box, you would need muscular strength; to walk or jog a mile, you would need cardiovascular endurance; and if you had to carry groceries from the store to your car, you would need muscular endurance. All are an important part of overall fitness, which is why it is important to not only do cardio/aerobics, but add weight training as well for muscular strength and endurance. > > > >> Very cool, Darcy!!! > >> > >> Hey, one of your comments brings up a question... what is the difference > >> between strength and endurance, like here, where you're talking about this > >> workout and your legs? > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> * Pure Barre > >> > >> Well, I decided to go with another workout like this for today. Guest guest
I use this in spinning - sprinting requires different muscle structures than endurance riders. Look at the bodies - sprinters on the Tours have large quads, endurance and mountain climbers (who have strength endurance) have lean bodies (but this is also the force to mass issue in cycling)To: exercisevideos Sent: Wednesday, April 8, 2009 1:12:04 PMSubject: Re: Pure Barre Strength is heavier weights and less reps.
