Guest guest Posted December 26, 2011 Report Share Posted December 26, 2011 I have finally figured out the cause of the salty kombucha. I let it ferment a few more days, and it was still salty. So I took out the bag of sugar (which I use only for kombucha), tasted a pinch, and it has salt mixed in with the sugar. Repeated questioning of family members has not revealed the perpetrator of this sabotaging of my bag of sugar, so I guess it will forever remain a mystery. I am very sad to have to throw away a batch of long-awaited kombucha, but thankfully I have more scobys, and will begin with a new bag of sugar! A very Happy New Year to all of you!
