Sansone Punch Up Your Walk

I wanted a longer workout but didn't feel like pushing myself super hard so I figured a longer walk would work. This one is 4 miles with chapters for each mile so you can do as many as you like. There's also a 5 minute bonus lower body workout. I did all 4 miles plus the bonus workout. The bonus workout was a few squats, then static lunges on each leg and then leg lifts (on all 4s). I was surprised at how much I felt the lunges especially but after a one hour walk, and a lot of squats, I guess it made sense I should feel it. It was a nice little add-on. The workout itself was okay, I did all 4 miles. It is by herself in a weird set. She's on a stage but off to one side is a small, tall table with two tall chairs and off to the other side are couches! Meanwhile, there are also exercise balls and steps around too. It wasn't bad looking, just strange. The music was very unmotivating though. I had a really hard time keeping up my enthusiasm and energy because either the music was too quiet or just didn't grab me at all. The most lively was that darn "Everybody" that is in a lot of her other workouts and I had gotten really sick of hearing when I was doing a lot of workouts! It seems for these extremely basic workouts that I need really good music to help me get into it since there isn't much else to concentrate on (except 's constant commentary which was okay but the usual). Without a cast too it seemed like it lacked energy, even though is her usual energetic self. This one uses the weighted gloves and I thought those helped except that for some reason, I have two left gloves!!! I don't remember how I got these but I got the workout from someone here but can't remember if the same person gave me the gloves... if you're out there and you have a set of two right gloves, let's trade!! (I owe you an email too and will write soon!) :-) does a little bit of pretty lame punching here and there and some upper body movements occasionally but the gloves do help give all the moves a little bit more intensity without the fatigue of holding a set of dumbbells for an hour. She warns you not to get "swingy" with the weights so she keeps the upper body movements to a minimum. I figured 1.5 lb. gloves were not going to cause me a problem so I did my usual exaggerated arm movements to get more intensity into the workout and that helped a lot too. I got a decent enough calorie burn out of it but wasn't in my training zone nearly enough for a long workout like this, it was hard to keep my heart rate up, along with my interest though by the last 2 miles I was enjoying it more. I doubt I'll be pulling this one out very often, I have other long workouts I like better but it was good to try out. I might use the individual chapters for shorter walks though. Anyway, it was good to do and now I'm off for another day of work and traveling (I work at two different locations today plus have to get my daughter after school for dance and more driving for that, it is a shorter day than yesterday though so I'm grateful for that).
