Guest guest
This is not an answer to your question, sorry, but I have been on anti-depressants in the past for other issues and was fortunate enough to get past that, and really hope I don't need them when I start treatment. The less chemicals the better. But I wonder if anyone in here uses the natural anti-depressants, such as St. 's Wort? And are they hard on the liver? Guest guest
Hi , When I saw my hep doc for the first time I remember him telling me to not take any kind of herb without checking with him first because it could be more damaging. I dont know about that specific one but It would probbaly be a good idea to check with your doc first. Congrats on being sane. lol > Hello Group, > > I was wondering what anti-depresents your doctor perscribed you before > you started treatment? Guest guest
, My Hepatologist would not even start treatment until I started Anti D's, and I have no psych. history. I would explain the cost issue like said and maybe he will prescribe them. I had to see a Psych DR.,monthly, it's just part of their program. Anti-depresents Hello Group,I was wondering what anti-depresents your doctor perscribed you before you started treatment? Will the hep doctor prescribe them for me or do I have to see someone else?Heres the thing... I think when I go to the hep doc on thursday I was going to see if he could prescribe something. I really have been on a emotional rollarcoaster and I have always been on anti-depressents all my life up until about 3 years ago. I cant afford to see him and another doc. So I was hoping he could help. Any thoughts? No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
My hep C doc will not allow herbs. You need to talk to your doc before taking them. Some herbs will not work with the treatment. Guest guest
Talk to your doctor about it. Tell your doc about the sides you’ve experienced from them and maybe he can try you on a different one. Most of us who have done tx highly recommend an anti-depressant while on it. Many have tried without it and went back to ask for it later. RE: Anti-depresents I doubt if I will use any St. 's Wort or anything else, I really don't like the side effects of anti depressants. One I used gave me horrible nightmares, every time I fell asleep it was like a King movie, no thanks! Waking up with a mouth so dry it felt like my tongue was glued to the roof of my mouth was not pleasant either.
Guest guest
Hi Connie ~~ I'm glad the Lamictal is working for you. I have been on it for seven years now and it has been a God-send for me. My ups and downs are pretty much under control -- with just small peaks and valleys now -- nothing I can't handle. It makes me wonder if when I start tx whether he will put me on an anti-depressant or not. I'll know more on December 17th when I go back and see him. Blessings, I was recently put on a mood stabilizer called"Lamictal" I've been on it 5 weeks now and it seems tobe helping with the depression. It does make me alittle tired. No scarey nightmares, but I have hadsome pretty good x rated ones that included Brad Pittjust to name one. --- Motley <dmotleybellsouth (DOT) net> wrote:> Recent Activity 4 New Members 6 New Photos 3 New LinksVisit Your Group Cancer Support on Yahoo! Guest guest
I don't really have depression issues any more, I pretty much worked through that stuff over many years. But I very well understand how overwhelming and debilitating it can be.suzie wrote: Hi , I've been on many anti-depressants through the years - not for tx but other things & had the same problems you did. Guest guest
Hello , SuZiE, Suzie, I just read about your finding, and you will be alright.. Your too damn tuff (YOU can handle the warlord)! for anything else! Please keep me/us posted as to whats going on....OK? Are you near Canning, Nova Scotia? , Which Auntie Dee gave you the strange dreams, please? I am taking Zoloft and now I've added for sleep... Trazadone. I have heard that 'bizzaar' type dreams come along with the Trazadone. They are called Trazadone Dreams by many users. I really enjoy unique and maybe wierd dreams, that seem so real when you wake up your not sure if it actually happened or not. As if you spoke to someone you haven't in a while, or like when your sick, you just know that _______ is there, in the chair sleeping, so it's OK to sleep. But when you wake up they aren't there... or the blanket you saw them using hasn't been moved... plus, what would they have told their own family? Almost " real " dreams are indeed something... but I'm like you, King and Straub and all those guys can please stay at their house! not mine!!! Could your drug have been Trazadone? There was another I took called Remeron....100% sure dreams that were light and airy...laughing, feeling really good. But in real life, I ate like a horse!! I gained around twenty pounds real fast taking Remeron, but the dreams and the rest were very welcomed. Guest guest
Trazadone was the first anti-depressant I ever took. At the time, I LOVED it, it was very nice to just drift off into dreamland at night and none of it was bad. However, I could not WAKE UP when I took the trazadone, if the phone rang, or the kids cried, during the night, I could hear them, away in the distance, and could not respond. Not good. No, my bizarre dreams were from amitriptyline. And it wasn't just a nightmare a night. I would wake up terrified, finally go back to sleep, only to have yet another. And another. Every time I went to sleep, all through the night. I did consider having pen and a tablet by the bed to write them down when I woke up, thought I could write my own horror novels. My doctor said, "The amitriptyline is not causing the nightmares. You have always had them. The amitriptyline just makes you remember them." lol, no way. I always dream, but they are generally good dreams, and I have had my share of nightmares, but not like that. They say you dream less as you get older, but I dream a lot, and I think it's a good thing. But not on amitriptyline... Guest guest
Hi I haven't started treatment yet because I wanted to get my depression and aniexty under control. This seems to be working so I'll be starting treatment soon. I hope it continues to work once I start treatment. Connie --- " B. " wrote: > Hi Connie ~~ > > I'm glad the Lamictal is working for you.
