Guest guest
I have a couple thoughts about this. One would be that the milk is tasting " barny " meaning that there is contamination in the milk which can be that it is stinky where they are milking or there is contamination in the milk from unclean milking technique, unsanitary milking or storage or perhaps you prefer the taste of milk where the cows eat a little alfalfa and or grain in addition to pasture. I know that if there are some calcium or other mineral issues the milk can taste off and feeding kelp and a little alfalfa will improve the flavor to my palate. Lots of farmstead aged cheese tastes barny to me and I dont like the flavor. I have a small nubian dairy and I dont like and am sensitive to goaty milk and cheese as well. I have a cow and very much prefer the taste of milk when they get a little alfalfa in addition to pasture. Perhaps the new farmer requires a mentor? aliza > > <nodding> Thanks.
