Guest guest
Good evening all, This morning I had taken the day off from work as I had to go take a job test exam in Fresno this morning. It is about an hour and a half drive to Fresno. The test started at 8 AM. I got up and ate some oatmeal with raisins in it, I was really wishing I had a banana to throw in my purse for a snack when I got there, but I didn't so just went without it. I have taken a lot of state tests before, but this one was really hard. I'm pretty sure I didn't pass it, but I won't know for about 2 weeks. The test lasted for 3 hours, it was pure * & % for all 3 of those hours. I guess I should have taken more math, I have never taken any calculus or geometry classes in my life, and boy I was sure wishing I had today. Anyways, two of my good friends that I used to work with, that I haven't seen in about 3 years were also there taking the test, at least it was sure nice to see them, they are also pretty sure they flunked, oh well, the 3 musketeers flunked together maybe. After the test, and going to Taco Bell for lunch (we don't have one here in town and I couldn't pass it up) and the drive home I took a nap, it was supposed to be an hour nap, but it ended up being a 3 hour nap, I guess I was really tired. After I woke up I watched a little TV. I was scheduled to do strength training today, but I had pretty much talked myself out of working out, although I was supposed to have my rest day tomorrow. Anyhoo, about 8:30 this evening I finally managed to psych myself into working out so that I could enjoy my rest day tomorrow guilt free as I have to go back to Fresno tomorrow to take my husband to 2 doctor appts, and I will be very busy tomorrow. I ended up doing one I had never done before that I got off ebay a while back, it is a VHS, it's called The Definition workout Upper body by Joyce Vedral. In this one she uses 3 different sets of weights, light, medium and heavy, she does the same exercises doing the sets over and over changing from light, then medium, then heavy, etc. She calls it pyramiding. I just ended up using the same weights for all the sets, maybe I'm not supposed to, but when I went down to the lighter weights it didn't feel like I was doing anything. Should I be going to the up and down weights, or is it okay to just stay with one weight all through, She was using 2', 3's and 5's, I just used 7's throughout except for the triceps portion I used 5's. Also, she does bicep and hammer curls laying down on the bench. I didn't like it that way, it just didn't feel right to me, I felt more like I was using my shoulders this way than my biceps, I am going to do them standing next time. She did something called reverse curls in this, I have never done those before, those were kinda hard, I really felt those in my wrists. I liked the fact that this workout was only 30 minutes because I didn't even want to work out today. I like this workout okay, although Joyce is kind of a strange lady, I will do this again one day though when I want a short strength workout, I also have the lower body and the middle body tape that goes with this one. Sorry for the novel everyone. in CA
