Dear

Welcome to the still's family. I'm quite new to it also and when

reading your post I noticed how similiar our experiences were.

I too thought I had flu...was in fact diagnosed with it by my G.P, I

could not understand why after three weeks I was getting worse

instead of better. I've never really been ill before and thought I

should have shaken it off after a short stint in bed...but soon I

couldn't lift myself out of bed and 2 - 3 times a night my husband

was having to strip the bedding and me because the fevers were so bad

that the bed was soaked.

I spent the next three months in hospital and was diagnosed by a

second year resident (My consultant would not agree with her because

she came up with the diagnosis and she was young and female, he was

middle aged and Egyptian?!) I eventually had to get another

Consultant and was officially diagnosed soon after. Even though it

took six months from onset of symptoms, I still know it was a quick

diagnosis as I've heard horror stories of people waiting years and

being misdiagnosed.

The biggest problem after that was thinking I was cured or in

remission all because the steriods had kicked in and I felt

better...not 100% but a lot better, I took on too much and even

messed around with my medication for a while. It took a long time for

it to get through to me that this was my life now in fact thats what

I kept saying over and over " This is NOT my life " I was incredulous

that this could happen to me...definatley not in my master plan.

It's been 20 months now and I am more at home with my situation I

hope you continue to respond well and I wish you and your wife all

the very best.

Hiya!

I am a new member and I thought I should take just a moment to

introduce myself.

My name is ; I live in West Texas with my

amazing husband, Mark

and three awesome children. Kelby is almost 14, Blake is 8 and Allie

is 16 months old. In the last two weeks my son, Blake has been

diagnosed with Aspergers, Auditory Processing Disorder and Sensory

Integration Disorder. Needless to say I have

been attempting to

absorb as much information as I can possibly wrap my head around. The

only firm conclusion I have made is that West Texas has a very

limited number of resources.

I look forward to learning as much as I possibly can, putting that

information to good use and becoming a valuable asset in the creative

futures of our children.

Sincerely,

Hiya...I am in Midland. We are in the process of forming an ASA

chapter to help unite families of children with Autism. It has been

slow going but there are many families willing to help.

Let me know what you are looking for and I can get you intouch with a

family! Also, there is a respite program in Midland.

Hi my name is and I just moved to Midland about a month ago with my 2 children. We moved from San Angelo to here so I could get the best help possible for my son. Corey (my son) age 10 was diagnosed with having Mild Mental Retardation but falls in with Dyspraxia.(sp) So far with us being here it's been great. He gets to interact with children his own age off and on during the day at school. But the best part is he get to go to the same campus as his sister. What I'm looking for is the support and help we all need to deal with the everyday ordeal of having a child with special needs. Possibly even some sort of support group.

yea i'm new to the area too, but I have tons of family from my moms side here and the surrounding areas so it's not too bad. The kids and I drove around and got lost just to find our way around Midland and Odessa. It was great and we had the time of our lives.

Hi

I'm not sure where in Northern California you are, but I am in Sacramento. My

daughter is 5 with high functioning ASD. We used to belong to a playgroup, but

it fizzled out. There is a monthly event in Roseville at BounceU that is only

open to ASD kids and their families, it's a great place to meet others in the

ASD community. Also I know of a few churches that have wonderful programs set

up specifically for ASD kids, let me know if you are interested.

Ohio. the North Columbus areas of that state. I to have of 4 childrens , all

have of aspergers some mild some not so mild at times.

I to have of much pets because I to love of animals, I to have of a dog name of

libby, and a cat named of sassy pooh, and two rabbits named of Mr. And grumpy

girl. grumpy girl actaually charges at people and growls , I to never knew

bunnies could growl. it fears me at first. but they finally both have of their

hutches builded for outside and they are of happy in their new spaces. My

youngest son is of soon to have of hims 18th birthday, and all he wanted was a

kitten, so he is of getting a baby kitten next weekend for hims birthday , the

kitten will be of 6 weeks old then, the owners of it call her crumpet " but not

sure what my son will call of hims new kitty.

My childrens are of Aimee most involved in her aspergers at times, but she is of

the oldest and mom to my grand baby named of Delaney, and she is of expecting

her second baby on the october month and they have settled to a name of Tessa

Lynn for when she is of born. I to be of happy it is of a girl baby.

My son Isaiah is of the mildest of all of my kids for the most part, not need of

any supports or adult services so far, he maintains employment, can drive and do

fair but is of horrible to managing hims finances. he is of a computer genus and

was of hired straight from school to work as an intern under the attorney
