Guest guest
I'm not sure, if they are in education then statement should continue, it will for Sam, his school runs to 19. You should have had a transition meeting, or several even, we just had Sam's first and he isn't 14 until January Mandi I think so. However the LA still has a duty to a young person with SEN until they are 25 - but there isn't a Statement any more, so things get even more difficult. Connexions ought to help you here.Margaret>> due to leave school next Summer to go to college, is that the end of statementing?> TIA> Vicky>

Guest guest
We have seen the connexions woman but she is so wooly, always in a rush, can never stay longer than 10 minutes and always says she will deal with everything, now she tells us she is leaving at Xmas. hasn't had any connexions involvement yet. I'm just wondering if there is no statement through college what happens, mind you statements never really did anything for my lads, always been a case of taking a horse to a well. Guest guest
Once the statement finishes, I think you move into Section 139 territory - which we are in the process of at the moment. is only 16, but I think the transition period starts about year 9 or 10.   We have seen the connexions woman but she is so wooly, always in a rush, can never stay longer than 10 minutes and always says she will deal with everything, now she tells us she is leaving at Xmas. hasn't had any connexions involvement yet.
