Butter Question

A few of us have started to make butter. We used soured cream and made

the butter in mixers. I washed my bunch by hand and we experimented

and washed the other in the mixer by adding fresh water and continuing

to mix it. My butter stayed yellow while the butter that was washed in

the mixer turned white. Does anyone know why?
